The same one for me, Legal but this time i thought about it for a couple of minutes. Ian had a run with .746 sfi with good results... But ive tryed different sfis to just return to the "Gold standard" as you well named it...
I think that the .746 holds a good signal, it just doesn't run as cool as .714 and rightly or wrongly temparature matters to me.
I tend to regard .714 .sfi with the same affection as the old .523 one that was used for so many builds.

You forget our good old .658, which was pretty good.
I am tempted to try the .658 with RC8b but am not sure if it will boot, maybe Sator or Zocs can throw some light on this.......it sure will give us some more options and approx 4MB less on application space
Hummm... You have a point Maxx, that .658 was a good one! (I just put the sfi that i like in that folder... ) Reminding that i dont have there .658 sfi... Yet
I've never tried RC 8's with 658 sfi, I'm not sure if it will work or not Maxx. I've tested .714 larger/Voda UK and .746 Smaller/larger sfi and so far I found out that .714 larger/Voda UK. Runs better than .746, more responsive and cooler, as cool as 523 sfi.
1. More Smoother
2. Better Radio for voicecall connectivity & speech
3. Allows extremely fast scrolling, movement from one apps to another & general handling of 9900
Indeed - a small incremental improvement over over 8A1 but nonetheless, a remarkably very positive one !!! That makes using .746 OS a great joy
More feedback as few days roll on ... I am just into the 1st 12++ Hrs after install
Bold 9930 user here,
How do I know if the hybrid OS was installed successfully? I went with 7.1.0.649 with the RC7B1 mod. My phone boots fine, but I don't see any mention of RC7B1 OS in the "about" section of the phone. All I see is 7.1 Bundle 1886 (v7.1.0.649, Platform 5.1.0.480). It doesn't freeze with the hour glass either, like many of you have experienced.

I've always wondered about the best procedure when installed a new OS, hybrid or stock... Is it better to restore your setting first and then install apps. Or vice versa?

You won't see any indication that you've installed a hybrid. Basically if your phone boot fine and runs nice and smooth then you're install was successful

IMO Application first then restore so that you don't have to checked application permission afterwards
I'm still on RC2, mainly because I couldn't be bothered to upgrade lol. Question, what is the best way to upgrade from RC2 to the latest RC8B? Do I need to do the ALX fix? I was thinking of Downloading latest RC8 but not sure where to get the proper sfi.

Help would be greatly appreciated
Just download 746, install, download RC8B1, extract & copy (overwrite) to java folder, install using DM or BBHtool.
