How do I know what sfi I loaded? I just put RC8 overtop of the .746 from Taiwan Mobile.
If you didn't change the .sfi yourself then you will have loaded the one from the base OS.
RC8 is only a Java file not a full OS.
If you want to use a different .sfi you need to change the file contained in the UMTS folder which is in the same location as the Java folder you accessed earlier.
There are links in this thread to the .714 .sfi but if you want to change you have to reload the OS once you have swapped the .sfi file.
Am a little behind.. running RC7B2 (installed over 746 with 746 Rogers sfi) @ 72 hours and going to move on soon (too many BL hybrids to sit on one for too long.. LOL). So, here's my report...
ADR (BBDA) 4.76% - typical for me. I noticed that more modules are running than usual. 99 instead of in the 60's. I assume it's because I didn't shrink for a change. This was a test to see if Rogers VVM would run smoother and with less lag. I'm not clear on whether it helped. (Any comments on that theory?)
Modules with highest CPU time: (first two are very high even compared to norm)
- fileindexservice 3.31% (obviously I'm using short forms)
- VVM Rogers 2.72%
- bb_messaging 0.97%
- bb_qm_peer 0.93%
Mostly twitter & bbm. Emails sent/rcvd approx. 2/hr, Phone usage 0.67%, minimal audio, no video - overall relatively light usage compared to normal
The good news -- (1) ADR idle has been the lowest I've seen ever - in the low 1's, (2) the 746 sfi continues to be terrific. From the "intermittent connection details" (also in BBDA) - 2G 4.4%, 4&5 bars - 85%, (3) relatively minor lag only and 100% of that related to VVM usage.
No I meant a proper voip account and voip app> I use Vmobile but it does not work above 342. Sad. Looking for anyone else who uses any other voip service like tringme or blackvoib app

Check out RC8a and you will Amazed to see some really Awesome results !
I was previously holding off... then downloaded RC8... now I see Verizon released 7.1.0.755... and I'm confused if I should start to wait again!
It will take time to get the .755 java FJBOS, since it's for 9930 Verizon customers only, we have to wait for some one kind enough to upload the .755 Java only. So it's Ok. for now If you wanna try RC8A1.
