I'm running the Java from RC7B1 with my Sprint 9850 on the latest .649 without any problems at all. Just in case anyone is curious. The software version is reported as .714. Running smooth so far.

Installed with Desktop Manager after copying and replacing the Java files.
I'm glad RC7B1 running smooth on your 9850, you can also try RC7B2.

Sator, I am using RC7B2 on 9860 last two days with base .746 and sfi .714 (large) but noticed that different colour lights option was missing. Is it because RC7B2 has not been built for 746 or some other issues?

I am missing customised LED on RC7B2, rest other things are fine. So, there will be RC8 & Return V2.0,it is really going to be big confusions in our minds which one to use? Earlier it was simple, we were simply upgrading RCs but lot of shuttling bet RC and Return.

Sator, after installing RC7B2 on 746 with 714 sfi, customised LED option wasn't available. Is it because of any problem in installation process, normally, it should have been available, if base is used .746?

Yes you can, I've installed this on 9360, and I'm also going to install it on my son's 9860 in the next few days when he comes to my home.

RC7B2 won't have customised LED option, we have to change some cods. With 746 in order to have customised LED and they might conflict with the 658 cods.

The forthcoming version which will be RC8 will be based on the 746 OS. and it does
    include the new features.

It should be ready for release towards the end of the week.

Had a crack at rc7b2 but with .746 sfi torch, i'm yet to see temps below 25degrees. Average is 31degrees. too hot. Will try rc7b2 with .714 base and sfi again, i tried it for a day and although it seemed good, I had just put it in haste to have a working phone. the prev day i had just tried out plain 746 and it was a disaster. i dont remember if it was the temps or what but i removed as quickly as I had put it. Is rc7b2 better than rc7b1? havent read much comparisons on that. esp on torch

7b2 has performed very well for 9900 and i don't see a reason why it should be any different for other 7.1 devices.

Anyone want a new BL Ultimate???

Here we have the latest version in Alpha release......BL Ultimate BL8 Alpha 1

Install the Base OS 7.1.0.746 prior to extracting the hybrid mix

Installation instructions are the same as previous builds and remember if you have a Bold 9930 you require the extra files from
    the first post.

OK, will give Large .746 .sfi a try, but not read good things about it to be honest.

If you don't have any heating up problem with the .746 SFI large, you can go for that one, but if you have a problem than you can go for the .714 SFI large (Voda UK.)
I use .714 SFI Voda Uk. Since the 746 SFI is a lil bit warmer for my carrier than 714 SFI.

    Thanks Sator

I'm a big fan of the .714 Large .sfi so will run RC8 with that one now that you have given the OK to do so.

Feel far happier with a known good one than trying .746

Yeah, but you know how some of us become attached to a particular .sfi !!!

Was only asking to see if we could swap the .sfi

It was clear from your post that we have to use the .746 Java and .alx files

Sorry legal, it was just 2 questions within 5 posts was a bit of a pain

We didnt run the tests with 714 as our priority was to build a good 746 mix.

I would try whatever you are comfortable with.

    No offense taken Ian.

Just wanted the info to be out there as it is usually one of the most frequently asked questions when a new build appears.

WOW RC8 out already? I'm getting amazing ADR with BerryLicious Returns 1.0 I don't know if I should even try the alpha, and I haven't said that with any RC build before. I kind of do want to try out the medium .714 SFI though, has anyone tried all three? Small, Medium, and Large .714 .SFI? Which is best for battery life? I'd love to try RC8 along with the medium .SFI, I've tried small and large and the large one is performing better for me in terms of temps and battery life.
