Hello! Is it possible for me (as a torch 9810) user, to install .746 (9900) with a .714 sfi for the torch 9810 on a torch 9810?
No, is not possible. Because .746 for 9900 is strictly for the Bold 9900.

Yes you can, but you have to modify the alx. Files so that the new features will be installed on your phone otherwise your phone won't boot up. Maybe you can ask Zocster a favor, he has the modified alx.'s For other devices.

The "Dakota" files are not compatible with the latest 746 build. At list on my device. Tried it 5 times yesterday and today. Every time it would result in "App Error 200 / reset" screen.
It is working fine up to 714 build though. Any thoughts on this?
(Apologies if it's been announced already and I have missed it)
    Cheers!

Loaded .746 Rogers jALL OS (non-Hybrid)

    Much better voice-calls than the [ .746 os + .714 Large sfi ]

waiting patiently for RC - 8

How does the large .746 .sfi compare temp wise with the large .714 ?

From your comment, I am presuming that signal wise it is a little better ?

It has been mentionerd previously, but on a thread this size it's very easy to miss something.

You must use the .746 .alx files unmodified to get it to load properly.

DO NOT use the modified files from post 1 at the moment although I am sure that Zocs will come up with some modified .alx files for .746.

It may have something to do with the 'extra's' RIM included with the 746 OS i.e. LED's and new map UI!! just my thoughts

    Thanks for this info!
Unfortunately I have figured it out the hard way...
All is fine now. Running unmodified .alx without any problems.

    Signal is very good but.....

temps are abt 8~10 deg C higher than .714 large sfi hence ADR is higher but then, its just been loaded barely 8-10 hrs back

I did try with the .714 large and small and the .523 still giving me best temp, adr, mdr, signal and wifi lock....perhaps this is also related with my carrier network

The performance of each install is totally network dependent ...

no 2 doubts abt that ...

Hmm, they say that no news is good news, but I'm getting a little worried about the silence over the past few days regarding RC8

Beginning to wonder if testing is not going as expected.

Been over 2 weeks without a new RC release, I might have forgotten how to load a new OS by the time RC8 arrives !!!!

Looks like my RC8 will be running the large .714 .sfi then.

my result on 746 multi (small sfi), running each for 3-4days :
    - 746 sfi (small) : good running, tempt bit warm 3G can reach 37c, small memory leak.
    - 714 sfi (small) : running just fine, 2G at 25c - 3G at 31c, average memory leak.
    - 658 sfi (small) : same as 714 small sfi, big memory leak.

now try running on 746 JallLang pure (no swap sfi). while waiting new RC comes abroad.

guess bit late, because of the new things in 746 like customized led and stuff, maybe they are working on the modified alx.

well for me better late but perfect that in a rush but lots of problem in the future LoL

If I remember correctly, I King was going to be building RC8.

Whatever happened to RC7B2, I thought that Sator had got that built some time ago and it was under testing ???

Couldn't agree more, RC8 will really have to go some to beat that combo.

I really can't find any fault with it.

You haven't used the large SFI for long enough mate!
Over a time the temperature goes down... How long did you give it a go?
I've been following this thread from the beginning and rely on the info given here..

Please do not confuse anonymous readers and the rest..

Anyway, the 746 is a rough one! And I hope that the upcoming RC8 will help it out...

    Cheers!
