BerryLicio.us Ultimate hybrid for most OS 7.1 devices
- Hmm, my gut feeling (I could be wrong here) but I don't have a good feeling for .746. Temps too high? real or not? I guess I will wait till BL has their hybrid ready for this new OS. Maybe I will just do .714 with RCB2 when available? desiscions descisions. hahaaha.
By the way, on another tid bit note for ya all. FIrst of all I worked for many years as a hardware design engineer for Modicon. That is just a quick background. We spec'd all of our products to run 0-60'C. Integrated circuits (IC's) today are all spec'd to run at 0-60'C. This is for commercial/personal use. They also have Mil spec ic's that are spec'd to run at 0-70'C. So, in theory, we really don't have to worry about higher temps-but that is only in theory as there are other items to worry about such as the battery and the glass. Dunno if this is important-just a tid bit of info on heat-worry or not?
Oh well, I will wait out on BL development on the new .746. Rah Rah Rah! I am rooting for ya BL team!BoldAlways likes this.10-25-12 05:59 AMLike 1 - Hmm, my gut feeling (I could be wrong here) but I don't have a good feeling for .746. Temps too high? real or not? Has been 24 hrs since I loaded it and do find the temp running higher than usual, even with light use! Battery level and memory drain appear good, again with light use. Very responsive and quick; good browsing speeds. Haven't noticed any significant differences, other than temp with this build, as opposed to hybrids. See attached images Sorry about the size of images!!10-25-12 09:32 AMLike 0 - First impressions of the .746!

Sounds like RIM have been copying the BL builds and releaseing them as their own if this new OS is performing like a Hybrid !!!10-25-12 09:48 AMLike 0 - Have been busy these past few weeks; have been popping in now and then. And yes, it seems so! Just need to get the temp down a wee bit. Can only imagine what it would be like with heavy use! As ReBeL25 states, it may be a faulty temp reading? Currently my temp is 29c, not excessively hot I know, but im used to the low 20's or high teens! Despite this, neither the phone or the battery feels warm? I have been following guidelines for following hybrid install; battery pull, charge over night, and twice daily battery pulls for several days. Only time will tell. As an end note I have noticed the popping sound following a battery pull has vanished.

10-25-12 10:10 AMLike 0 - The way you use your BB defines how good is your adr. Im a medium/heavy user i and i cant get to adr of 1>1.5%. Theres always something going on my Bold (BBM, BBMgroups, e-mail, phone calls) and i get about 4,5% Meterberry and 2,9% BBDA. During heavy use ive never seen adr higher than 14%. So, in short, it all comes down to how heavy do you use it.
Ive been testing a 9360 for a couple of days and i liked it... Not a Bold but fast and small device. The battery gave me a working full day.

- I suspect that you may detect the smell of burrning if this .sfi is running as hot as is being reported !!!BoldAlways and Sator like this.10-25-12 10:53 AMLike 2

- If I remember correctly (CRS at my age), my BB9900 took about two weeks before it settled down (BB9900, .714 with BLRC7B1-large SFI). Today I checked my 9900 and my ADR is .9% and temp is 19'C. I am a very light user.
My BB9790 with .714 (RC7B1 and small sfi) is running at 25C' and ADR is .84% and this is after running at least two weeks.10-25-12 11:01 AMLike 0 - 10-25-12 11:05 AMLike 2
- Waiting for v7.1.0.746_P5.1.0.546 for other devices
It's been 5 days since I switched from 714 sfi to 523 sfi...
Still the same RC7B1 on 714 base OS for Blackberry Curve 9360. Seems like it settled quicker than when I used the higher sfi.
ADR now sits just above 6%. Temp usually ranges from high 20's to mid 30's. Stays on 20C to 25C when idle for at least an hour. But goes high up to 40C when browsing and streaming via YouTube or when long browsing of Facebook and Twitter.
...although network signal can only go as low as 70dB on 3G
Working my way to switching to the leaked 649 sfi. I'll post findings after a couple of days.10-25-12 11:52 AMLike 0 - If I remember correctly (CRS at my age), my BB9900 took about two weeks before it settled down (BB9900, .714 with BLRC7B1-large SFI). Just curious, are you working on RC7B2 for 714 (and/or 746)? Or a brand new one for 746 (RC8A1?)?10-25-12 01:09 PMLike 0 -
- I think with 746 we are looking to RC8 next hopefully.

Missing the porsche theme - how do I get it back on or add it to the next BL Hybrid if it involves a reflash ?

Damian10-26-12 12:29 AMLike 0 - I have loaded .746, not as snappy as RC7B1, but surprisingly, the browser speed is around the same
not sure if RIM has actually tune the browser but at least to my case, it is around the same speed as BL Hybrid
Can't wait for BL RC8 to come out! BL team, you guys never fail to surprise us!10-26-12 01:22 AMLike 0
