@Ian, why i asked was because i still feel the browser speeds and the overall AT&T special was very good so was wondering if one could try that mix with another sfi.

Since AT&T has older cods, can i try it with .523sfi ? Sorry for this question but my curiosity is just getting the better of me.

I don't recommend you, just wait for the BL 694 AT&T V2, it's gonna be tested within this days...

I agree with you 694 is very smooth and powerful, unfortunately it can't be mixed with to many .714 cods., I could make 694 AT&T faster but it will raise the temp., so this V2 is only a minor changes, smoother browser and less lag, ofcourse it's still powerful like the 694 V1...lol

Hmm den wat about .658 base vs .714 base?
Any base will do. Youre using 9900 as you mention above your Devices, so you have to download the Full Package for 9900 and completely overwrite it on your Loader file / base OS file. As for the base comparison, it is actually for other device than 9900, for their Radio/.sfi actually

We seem to be going over the same questions and replies again:

We have tested RC7A1 with both sfi`s so it is entirely down to which one
gives you the better performance on your carriers network.

Thanks Sator, will load up RC7a1 with .714 base and sfi on my friend's 9900. Just feel AT&T had some magic in it and wanted to see if it could be tweaked or see how it did on an another device which is just 5 days old.

*edit: please do some magic for V2 to run cooler or with a different sfi

I agree but this install was for a friend of mine who liked the overall performance when i used AT&T. The only hinderance was the device running hotter so just wanted an opinion or else we always have the safer option !

    IMO...694 and 649 have a temp. misreading, I think it's around 5 degrees higher...

    You can usa base 658 or 714 for RC6B1 + 658 sfi and for 694 you can use base 694 or 714 + 694 sfi (it's under BL 694 at&t)

    Hi Sator

What base is better to use, 658 or 714, with RC6B1 + 658 sfi?

The reason I'm considering .658 sifi -you mentioned ADR with audio (calls +media) runs lower/better?

    Thanks for help!

I don't really think that it matters which base Java you use.

By the time you have overwritten it with the Hybrid and shrunk it, there's not really a lot of the base Java left.

The big choice to make is the .sfi

What language do you use? If you use en_US or en_GB, it doesn't matter what base you use, since I already set the languages same with the hybrid specs. (RC6B1 onwards), if you use other than those languages, you can use base .714

As this Hybrid was built around the .658 sfi I would definitely recommend sticking with that file for the moment.

The battery and signal seem to quite reliable with that base also.

Here's my results to-date. Installed RC 7A1/.714 sfi about 40 hours ago. All is going well, except that I can't bridge to my playbook. As I do that only occasionally, I'm sticking with this build for now. Yes, I've uninstalled/reinstalled bridge, deleted/re-added connections with the appropriate battery pulls & PB re-starts. The wipe/reinstall went like clockwork, so I don't think I had any installation issues. No dice.

Finding this build very responsive, temp has gone up only slightly since install, hovering around 23. ADR is 1.3% per Meterberry, but 3.43% per BBDA. Any comment on why they would capture the ADR so differently? I reset both at the same time. ~ecm

I ask this because i have that base ready on my laptop for the new install or else have to load the base OS once i get home.

Meterberry reads from the time it goes off charge and BBDA reads it from midnight to the next 24hrs.

I dont see why not, we are here to advise but not instruct.

You are free to try that mix of you wish but the results we cannot comment on.

As for the Playbook issue, my Playbook has been working with no issues syncing and tethering through BB Bridge on my phone since i installed the OS`s.

Please keep us up to date on this issue.

Just wiped my fone twice and loaded RC7A1 on base .714 with .714 SFI, shrunk it down to 68.98mb, restored my contacts etc, did a battery pull.

1st thing I can say about the radio compared to .658 SFI, this one is fluctuating from -51db to -65db while .658 would stay around -62db, I'm hoping this fixes soon as the OS settles, seeing that -51db was a real surprise tho, that's AMAZING, 1st reboot took under 25 seconds, browser is faster than on the .658 one. Gonna wait for the OS to settle that I can report on battery, BTW I turned application monitor off, its useless to me, its just gonna drain battery. Bt I guess thts just me xD

It will settle down, 714 settled quite quickly on mine but the improvement on battery didnt really kick till after 2 days use.

Swap between apps to try it, it is lightning fast

My backlight is at the dimmest, and screen is timed out after 10 seconds. I keep battery saving mode always on, hope this helps!
