- OK - just got royally screwed - a Sharma case here too !
1. Downloaded RC-6B-1 from Ian's sig link.
2. Unpacking rar, turns out to be RC-6A-2 ...
3. Using base OS 694, and sfi 694, replaced Java cods
4. Shrunk OS
5. Load thru DM
6. "APP ERROR 602" ... holy $hiT
===============================
scrambling back to life now using J_L Cmdr to get to 507
Load OS 658 base + sfi with RC-6A-2 (RC-6B-1) whatever that java's called
man - hope I get there.
am cheesed off that will loose by DAMN BB Groups in the bargain.
Good thing is that I shut off the Radio before I started all this & did a full backup. Only hoping that Full Backup (MAY ... MAY) save me dunno
Other stuff?09-22-12 11:24 PMLike 0 -
So, you need to installed the based OS (suggested using 658), and then replace the java folder with RC6B1.
Even if you want to replace the entire java+umts+alx with hybrid, you still need to installed the base OS as a basic recognition between DM/Loader and you BB.

just abt SCRAMBLED UP in life ...
for a while .. till da J_L Cmdr wasnt doin' it was kinda in $hits ..
OK - one good thing though .... And Gotta thank PHILL all the way for this one ..
the BBM Groups ALL restored perfectly ... phew !!!
(i guess the fact that I kept my Radio OFF from the start, did everything, restored FULL using DM, did a manual batt pull) should / could be the only reason I see09-22-12 11:33 PMLike 0 - now am here ...
when you do updates using DM, you tend to forget just how much DM does it all for you. Have spent the last damn hr, installing all the Apps that I lost in the bargain of the APP ERROR 602 that I hit earlier.
Man !!! - dis aint nice on a Sunday ... surely need a cpl of beers nw ..09-23-12 12:24 AMLike 0 - 09-23-12 01:15 AMLike 0

- having a problem with BB Protect
Did you over lay it on .714? Since my java doesn't include Protect.
If yes, take all the native apps cods that you use from OS .694.
To be safe, please overlay it on 694 only, any native apps from .714 may not work with 694 sfi.

Any solutions ??

1. I installed os 658 on PC.
2. I then copied RC-6B-1 OVER java cods (replacing them).
3. I then copied Dakota ALX (3 files) OVER base 658 os ALX files (replacing)

694 and 714 DO NOT come the picture here. Its ALL 658 here.Last edited by audio_engr; 09-23-12 at 03:29 AM.

That"s pretty strange since I did not modify applcation permision cod., BB Protect is supposed to work with 658 cods.
Is there anybody also has a problem with BB protect?Last edited by Sator; 09-23-12 at 04:06 AM.
09-23-12 03:37 AMLike 0 - Update: It has been 12 hours since I installed the 'pure' .714 OS leak. Battery pull after install, charged over night, and battery pull this morning. I shrank with BBHTools, down to 73mb prior to install. .sfi file size is 66mb
My initial impression was the OS wasn't as snappy as Hybrid, however this has improved. Was running a little warmer; this may have been to trying out all my apps, which work perfectly. I did notice the 3G signal was not quite as good as the Hybrid, though not to make a difference. Have yet to make a call. Browser speed is quite good, no discernible difference. No memory leak to speak of.
I know its early days, seems a decent release for Virgin Uk use09-23-12 04:11 AMLike 0 - I had this problem though not using this base OS. what I did was I go to appworld -- myworld -- select the bb protect from the app list -- delete and re-install it again also using appworld09-23-12 04:14 AMLike 0
- Only 12 hours in but so far RC6B1 is looking good.
The .658 .sfi is running a little cooler in this build that .523 did in RC5.
Signal seems to be on a par with .523 for me on Voda UK.
Still early days with scheduled battery pulls to be done but battery seems similar to RC5B which of course means that it is good.
RC5B was the best build for me to date but RC6B1 looks as though it could be better once it has settled.09-23-12 04:22 AMLike 3 - I had to update BBM & Protect (appworld>my world), while installing RC6b1 and had the java lang error post the first boot, no further problems to report as such.09-23-12 04:34 AMLike 0

I had battery drain of around 3% but then changed my wallpaper (a neon lit hd wall) and since then the drain is around 1%. It is a light usage day due to Sunday but so far VERY GOOD .Sator and BoldAlways like this.09-23-12 04:39 AMLike 2 - You don't need to worry about any of these builds staying sharp, new versions come out so often that the OS never has a chance to get old !!!Sator and BoldAlways like this.09-23-12 05:23 AMLike 2
- Apologies. That link is correct. The archived directory has the wrong name but the one that says RC6 A2 is actually Beta 1. Just to confuse.
Hope you all enjoy. And if you fancy a change we now have the AT&T mix on a different thread.
