For the 9900 should we use the .alx files from RC5 full OS ?
I just copy past over java of the RC5B2. Everything else remained there (umts and alx files). And i didnt deleted all cod. files from 5B2, just droped the new hybrid there.

I have always previously deleted all Java files from the previous OS and only loaded the "new" Java files on their own.
you would be better nipping to rroyy.com and ota installing it. either that or you could find the cods and out them onto your phone but that is a bit more difficult.
To say that I'm a perfectionist would be an understatement. I was having a problem with my 9900 which I posted in another thread and someone suggested I try a Hybrid OS. Not knowing anything about it I came here and made my first post way back on 9/7/2012
Since then I've wiped my device and installed a Hybrid OS several times. The last one was last night when I installed RC5B2 over .523. After installing and getting everything setup I began re-installing my apps. I installed each app separately, configured it and did a battery pull. Although time consuming I feel it proved to be beneficial.
I was able to isolate 4 apps that caused an Uncaught Exception error.
7Digital Music Store - v1.5.37 - 9/8/2009
Call Blocker Professional - v5.25 - 6/10/2009
QuickLaunch - v4.2 - 3/12/2009
Volume Scheduler - v4.6.2 - 6/20/2011
After installing each app and doing a battery pull I received the UE so I uninstalled it and did another battery pull and no UE.
For now my 9900 is running great and I'll continue to monitor it the next couple of days.
My next challenge will be to install the next Hybrid right over what I have without wiping the device. It will save me a lot of time and hopefully there won't be any issues.
Again I want to thank everyone here for all the assistance I've received and hopefully I'll be able to contribute to the thread.
RC6 either on .569 or .523 has nt been providing good signal and locking. I had to do twice OS installation today but ultimately had to come back to RC5B2.
Been using .714 with RC5B-2 and i've got to admit the battery drained much quicker than when i was using .523. The .649 was making my 9360 heat up. can anyone anyone using .569 give me any feedback on how their battery life's been?

I did find the battery life quite good but 569 has been giving me better results although the radio strength was better with the higher one.
Sounds like more experimental sfi being leaked. Hmmm RIM!

That's the reason it fails to excite me whenever RIM releases a leaked OS, the more recent ones that i can remember is the .402 & .649 for the 9900/9790, which was crappy to say the least in more ways than one.
Let's hope that we get an Official release for 9900 so that Zocs and team can whip up some more magic, the kind which are used to getting over here.

Sounds like you have to give a little just now.
so you finding .569 better than .523 ? as your device is different from mine will that still determine whether 569 may not actually be brilliant on my device?

Good news is that the leaked OS for 9860 has arrived so you can try a new base now.
