Anyone want a new OS to play with??????

Well here it is, the later installment of the BL Ultimate Series of Hybrids

BL Ultimate Hybrid for OS 7.1 RC6 Alpha 1

This is Java Only so basically pick your base for your Handset, we still recommend 7.1.0.523 but as some handsets are now higher choose wisely.

Please let us know if you find any issues.
    oh i apologise!!! hehe *bookmarks*

Restore the 3rd apps BEFORE you restore your DATA which is contacts, bbm contacts, settings etc. Correct me if im wrong
    No, you are perfectly correct
Let me see if I understand the procedure...

    1) Back up phone with BBH Tool

    2) Install new hybrid OS

    3) Restore 3rd party apps using BBH Tool

    4) Restore data

Thanks again to both of you.

As its only coming to the end of the second full day on RC5B2, i may wait until a leaked version of .714 comes out for the 9900. More than happy with what I have for now!! Although I have downloaded and installed it on PC

Hi, would any of you guys recommend the leaked OS base .714 for Curve 9360 with RC6 Alpha aka RC5B3?

So far I wouldn't say I have a problem with RC5, but my phone keeps on freezing/when I switch through apps it shows the loading sign for a while before actually opening the app. What could be the actual cause of that?

Haven't installed RC6 on phone, but it is on PC. When I opened BBHTools I noticed the size was greatly reduced, originally 73mb - this is what Id shrunk RCB2 down to. With new java swap its down to 68mb, and when I shrank out what I didnt need its 60mb. A 13mb size difference seems at lot?
Presumably RC6 is a straight java swap i.e. remove existing java files/folder and replace with RC6 java folder/files? Which I did for previous RC's

You have that correct, except you backup the data using, Desktop manager,
    and your apps using BBH-Tool.

My report with the new OS is as follows:

Smooth apps, Good Browsing, Battery hasnt stabilised yet but still gave me no
higher than 4% most of the day apart from during long calls.

I am using the .569 radio for the 9900 so .523 may even be better for some of you.

    Download, install and enjoy.

My preference is to backup 3rd party apps with Desktop Manager too. I find it's much quicker and easier. All you do during the OS install is check them all off from the list in Loader.exe and they install with the new OS. Saves time reinstalling them all again later.
All you do after the install is restore your data with DM, reboot, and enjoy

Here's a link if anyone's unsure how to do it... http://crackberry.com/blackberry-101...our-blackberry

Hmm... .649 OS seemed like a flop so I like the idea of trying .569 radio and am going to do the same. Signal hasn't been as strong with .523 as it usually is for me. So, I'll be installing RC6 over .569 OS including of course the .569 SFI.

Thanks again to the entire BL team!!

Unless the majority of the time was charging, it doesn't make sense to me. Perhaps TinyMeter is not reliable?

You have to do batt. Pull twice in the row or 1 soft reboot if you use tiny meter, otherwise it will loose your record time (time since start up, at the bottom) and show that your device has been start up since 6 hours ago (batt. pull 6 hours apart), and it won't give you an accurate ADR or MDR result.

Frankly, now that BB Device Analyser is part of OS7.1, I don't see any need for MeterBerry or any other similar app. I like the idea of having a battery icon, but otherwise, I'm sure apps like this have to be using unnecessary overhead.

btw did you guys plays with the radio files again? if yes then i'll go with 523..

updating as we speak. since i can't find some apps in RC6 (docs to go, bbm, etc), i overwrite RC5Blv2 with RC6. using 523 .sfi

I think we have once established that 569 wasn't working well on your carrier once. You should stick to what works.

thanks. Thought to test .569 with RC6. If doesn't work, i will revert back to .523. let us see, meanwhile, there may strong possibilitiy to get leak .714 for other devices.
