Just got my 9900 yesterday, back to BB after an 11 month fling with Android...it's a white box unit I got off of eBay, and it was randomly rebooting after I got it set up, so I went straight to this hybrid (RC5B) on top of .569, and it's solid as a rock so far! Nice and smooth, and very quick!
    Welcome to the club.

Don't forget to change your device info, still showing you in darkest Android Land !!!

    Loaded RC5b2.
lol that was quick, infact used the .569 base this time and all seems to be good after a full wipe and reinstall of apps.

Not too smart to notice any changes as yet but will post for all findings in the coming days !

I installed the .569 OS, then completely emptied the OS folder, then dragged and dropped the RC5B2 hybrid into the folder, shrunk, then loaded onto phone

It is a good thing and you will notice it over the next day or so. Runs smoother over time.

By the way there isn't really competition between Ohad and the BL team.

Its like Volkswagon, Seat, Skoda and Audi. We are all equal but it gives you a better selection to choose from.

I've been running RC5b over .569 for a couple of days now and all is well.

I was wondering what base most of you are using, .523 or .569?

If I stick with .569 and want to install RC5b2 and don't want to wipe my phone what is the procedure?

How often does a new hydrid come out? Seems like RC5B came out not too long ago.

RC5Beta was last week believe it or not. We weren't expecting to change again but have managed to squeeze a bit more performance out of the cods so Beta 2 is out today.

We recommend using 523 so its with the 9900 download. But some people have seen different characteristics with the 569 radio file. And I am currently testing the 649 one again, more fool me, its just rubbish. Lol

Oh and I meant to add, you will need to reload the phone from scratch to change to Beta 2 I am afraid.

Thank you. Since this is a beta I'll assume we'll see a final version in the near future. I'll wait for now.

That's a good question. Until we really do the Ultimate OS we
Are working Alpha to Beta as they get modified.

Once a new OS with a decent radio file appears we will have RC6 versions available.

@lion- can you be a bit more specific. I am guessing you might have
Pasted the RC5 Beta 2 files into your java directory??

If so I hope you manage to load it up without issue.

    Make sure you backup 1st.

If I want to clean up my BB with a lot of junk,

    after I do a Full Backup ...

can I do a Selected Restore, skipping stuff like

    Application Permissions
    Browser Cache
    Code Module Group Properties
    Configuration Channel
    EntryPoint Settings
    Handheld Agent
    Handheld Key Store
    Time Zones
    Trusted Key Store

How important is RMS Databases ?

It could only really be fonts. I leave times, courier Latin installed.

Just opened a ppt doc to check on mine and it was ok. I would
Try a couple of different ones in case its just the file.

A question about DA. It only shows 7 days when zoomed out. Is the BDR the average of only those last 7 days or is it since you started running the test?

Installed RC5B2 yesterday evening on 9860 with base .523 and sfi .523. Seems working better than RC5B. Since last one month, its happening with me to install OS almost every 2-3 days. Testing all combinations of base & sfi among (.523, .569 & .649)! It seems like, we will never be satisfied and there will be no final version. Zocs and his team will keep on busy for testing everytime new experience!
