It will speak to you in a foreign tongue I do believe!
But seriously if its working then its working. After a few days, and several battery pulls, you should notice an improved battery life, memory leak, and the phone running very smooth. Also check device versions to see what you are running

Check the device information, if it is showing you have OS 7.1.0.658 then the OS has installed correctly.

I am currently just over 3 days in since my last battery pull with a memory loss of 0.3mb !!!

Looks like reboots will only be done after app installs/updates.

I installed .569 on my PC and overlaid RC5b(copied the .cod and .alx files) then ran the loader.exe and there wasn't anything new.

    Does this sound right?
Do the alx files still need to be copied?

I was planning to install .649 then copy rc5b overtop and shrink to my liking. Do we need to copy the alx file as well? I thought the alx were just for rc1 & 2 and are no longer needed?
    For a 9900.

I believe that Zocs has modified some of the .alx files to prevent duplicate modules being installed onto the device so the answer is yes, use the ones from the RC5B download.

Ah ok. So the alx are included in the 9900 full package and don't need to be copied seperately? That's what I meant by saying they weren't needed - no extra step to copy them is needed because they are already included in the 9900 RC5B package

Sorry if I misunderstood your question.

You are right, just use the ones from the RC5 download.

Zoc's .alx is 100% modified. I mentioned it earlier today. And it is modified to the cod files that are included in his hybrid. So even if you have other cod's in your java folder they most likely won't be installed because of the .alx. For example the fonts.

That is true, so what font/s were you actually missing?

I have them, no worries. I know that you don't include them to your hybrids since the time when I installed your first hybrid on my Torch. It was a while ago. . That's why I add them every time and fix the .alx.

Thanks legal for the link to the appropriate topic for the OS6 users

Trying to run it without a reboot has been hard the last couple of days with new twitter beta and facebook 6.2 becoming a full blown release.

So based upon recommendations here I just upgraded from RC5a to RC5b. Did several battery pulls and so far no Uncaught Exception error.

Last time I re-installed several apps at one time, this time I'm going to do one at a time and do a battery pull. Hopefully I'll be able to find the culprit that caused the problem.

A few other issues I was having on 7.1.0.569 and still had yesterday on RC5a that I'm hoping will go away soon....

Upon completion of some phone calls the call does not end even though I hit the end button. I have to do a battery pull.

The handoff from 4G to WiFi and vice versa does not always happen and I have to do a battery pull.

That an odd one, sounds like a carrier issue though.

As for 4G. The 9900 only supports 3G so that could be your issue.

I found the Uncaught Exception culprit - Call Blocker Professional by Epic Applications.

Good thing I began installing in alphabetical order.

I might have spoke too soon. When I thought it was CBP I uninstalled it and began installing several apps without pulling the battery. Got the same error message. Since it was so early in the process I elected to start over. I'll be more careful this time.

So who's deceiving me, T-Mobile or RIM? The phone shows 4G and is advertised as 4G.

The 9900 is an HSPA+ capable device, nothing more.

I'm thinking if you put a link to Vendelete+ on the first post, that would solve a lot of issues as per not being able to load due to vendor file(s). If you're cool with that, stick it up on the OS 6 thread as well just so you have your bases covered, so to speak.

That program searches for and deletes all/any RIM vendor files.

Hey Phill, I actually remember a post you had pertaining to 4G as being 'fake' or something like that. Can't quite remember what thread, but you said marketing gimmick if I'm not mistaken in that post as well. It actually made sense to me.
