Use the same resources as your sfi

Already did that, with .sfi 523 over .649.
Have to use the resources from a .523 install??

My 4th day with RC5B, using .658 with the .523sfi. Results are excellent. However it would seem what works for one, doesn't always work for another. Finding the right combination can be a tricky process. Different devices, combination of apps, and geographical location. And I'm sure the carriers service books come into play too.
I would advise anyone who is considering using a hybrid to read this thread and take advice from those that know. Personally I have a separate folder for each release, document what what changes I make. Lastly, choose a combination, install and let it settle for several days before making any further changes. We are all striving for perfection, but its not all about having the highest OS number for bragging rights, Its about getting an OS which works best for you, whether that is RC1 or RC5.
    Ill shut up now lol
    i can't find .658 for 9900? can u share your rom?

Nope, because this is Hybrid OS which is your Operating System, not your Hardware. You will be upgrading your OS, not your motherboard, ram, internal memory etc

So the radio seems to have stabilized itself, if that was even possible Today has been a day out of the twilight zone lol for real.

edit - I hope the way this thing is acting is for today only my signal seems to have gotten worse than before...oh well, we'll see what happens.
Well I've found .523 to run decent enough, but what I've found is make sure to set network to 3G only as the handset always seemed to want to drop back to EDGE or even GSM modes which was causing voice quality issues and random dropped calls due to poor hand-offs etc.

658 sfi is only available for the 9810, The Hybrid OS is using the
OS cods from the 9810 version and gives you 7.1.0.658 version
on whatever device you have installed it on.

Please use the RC5Beta Links in the 1st post if you wish to use the Hybrid and install this OS.

I love the RC5B, works perfectly on my 9900. Very smooth, no spinning clock. Very smooth browser. Very good battery life, it last whole 24 hours with normal usage. Been using BerryLicio.us since 9700.

    - Install 7.1.0.658 for BB Torch 9810
    - Replace .658 sfi by .523 from first post
    - Replace RC5B (java and alx file only)
    - Rename Folder to 9900?

    is it right?

    1. Download Base OS for your device / Official or Leaked. Install it first!
    2. Download RC 1 - 5 FULL PACKAGE if you're on 9900, Java only if you using other device.
    3. Delete everything inside your Loader File directory if you're using 9900, and paste all the Package of BL Ultimate RC Series for 9900, or copy all the Java Files that you already downloaded ( BL ULTIMATEM RC Java ) files into your Java folder os if youre using other device. MAKE SURE YOU COPY AND PASTE AND OVERWRITE IT!
    4. Shrink your OS *Optional
    5. Backup your data using DM, 3rd apps using BBsak/BBHtool.
    5. Wipe your Device using BBsak, BBHTool.
    6. Run Loader.exe
    7 Done!

P/s ; Not a friendly installation guide but hope it helps

No, only use the specific OS for your device. You cannot simply use others OS for your base lol! i assume you using 9900? Dont mind the .658, when you install this Hybrid, your screen will eventually shows version 7.1.0.658!

You just download the .649 leak for 9900, download the full package of the RC build. There is no base rom that brings the low-temperature for our bb, its just the .sfi file playing around and the low-temperatured .sfi is .523 which is zocs and the team already includes inside the Full package for the Bold 9900

    Hi Maxx

I'm considering loading RC5B. I have just have been on RC5A for nearly a week and doing really well.
I used .523 base for RC5A as you recommended. My question, is .649 base better to use instead of .523 with RC5B? I'm mostly on 2G and occasionally on 3G to save battery.

Thanks for your advice in advance!

Please use the instructions provided on the 1st post to get the correct install for your device.

If you have a 9900 there is a full OS package to suit also.

523 has been a really reliable base sfi and highly recommended.

I am currently testing 649 sfi again as i had issue the previous time when it was 1st leaked.

It still has the same issues where my phone randomly reboots if it loses wifi signal although apart from that the signal seems ok. No heat and battery is looking good.

I'm using 9900 with sfi 523 + BL rc5a, quite good and still wait newer 9900 sfi for reloading OS again.

thank you so much to BL team for their great work

And I want to share something about "about device version" (please correct me if I'm wrong, masters):

    example:
    7.1 bundle 1909 (v7.1.658, platform 5.1.0.393)

    a. 7.1.658 ==> refers to "net_rim_os.cod" version that installed
    b. 5.1.0.393 ==> refers to .sfi version that installed (for example : 9900 with 523 sfi, will show platform 5.1.0.393)

    see attachment for easy details

Wow...I had the random reboot sh!t after a few months of getting my 9900...upgraded the OS and haven't seen the problem since, those reboots really get the best of you.
I had a random reboot too.. from my experiences, it often happens when I use camera and the signal is "SOS or GSM"
Sharma, have you had the same moment (when reboot happened) with me??
