No you went to the correct place to get it.

Let us know how you get on with the 649 radio as it was really bad with the Leaked OS.

I did a reload again yesterday just to have a play with a few different things for you guys and gals so watch this space and I will let you know if its changed the way the phone handles.

You will enjoy BL5Beta though. Really smooth and brings the phone back to life.

I might just stick with the 569 base since I just loaded it. Or do you find the 649 to be much better? since rc5b replaces so much and I shrink out nearly everything else anyway...

Hi! Today is my second day with RC5B. I wanted to ask you how important are the battery pulls? I did only one until one. You are talking about 2-3 every day?!
    Thanks!

I ran the .649 radio on RC4A and it was terribly hot even with the Hybrid.

The battery pull schedule has to be followed for best results.

    The battery pull schedule :

One post OS and apps install.
One before going to bed (that night)
    Charge battery overnight
Next 2 days 2 battery pulls (per day) with a gap of 6 hours between them.

I have loaded the .649 base and used .523sfi and copy pasted RC5b over the Java and alx files and then shrinked to my choice.
Its the 3rd day for me and it is Awesome !

done that, combine 649 radio + RC5B, and the result is just like holding a hot cup of coffee on my hand LoL.

but if anyone doesn't have problem with the hot, go for it. for me 649 radio gives good locking signal, just can't stand the heat.

What if the next OS .sfi is like, .649 signal locking, .523 overall temperature?

My 4th day with RC5B, using .658 with the .523sfi. Results are excellent. However it would seem what works for one, doesn't always work for another. Finding the right combination can be a tricky process. Different devices, combination of apps, and geographical location. And I'm sure the carriers service books come into play too.
I would advise anyone who is considering using a hybrid to read this thread and take advice from those that know. Personally I have a separate folder for each release, document what what changes I make. Lastly, choose a combination, install and let it settle for several days before making any further changes. We are all striving for perfection, but its not all about having the highest OS number for bragging rights, Its about getting an OS which works best for you, whether that is RC1 or RC5.
    Ill shut up now lol

Hi! Nice report! Glad to read that. It's my second day using .523 with RC5B and I'm not able to say how good my phone's been working. I'll post more words in a week.
I wanted to ask you sth. about your pictures. There one can see your OS - in your case v 7.1.0.658. You said you have installed .658 with .523 sfi. I have installed OS .523 after full wipe and replace the Java Files. When I go to this screen - About Device Versions I see the same as you .658. I have never installed this version. How do you take a different .sfi file?
    Thanks.

it because RC5B using some cod s from other previous official and leaked os including os 658, so your bb will read for the latest os to be shown in about device version / help me screen, which is 658.

yup, it doesn't matter what type of bb are used. as long as the cod s contain 658 cod as the latest cod, then it will show you 7.1.0.658 in your device.
