    Hello,

I was wondering if you could help me out install berrylicio.us ultimate hybrid on my bold 9790. Im a complete noob. I have however installed RC4 on my 9790 bold these are the steps i followed

    1) Installed the os 9790jAllLang_PBr7.1.0_rel1648_PL9.16.0.129_A7.1.0. 523_Telkomsel

    2) Wiped my blackberry using JL_Cmder

    3) Fresh install of blackberry 7.1 os

    4) Download and replaced all files in the java folder from RC4 Java for non-9900 devices

    5) Shrink OS using BHtool

    6) Remove vendor file

    7) Wipe BB again

    8) Install the OS again using Loader

    9) Let it settle.

The battery life has not improved at all , using the bb device analyzer, i noticed the battery drain percentage is between 5-6% , i have not really seen any improvement with the battery or performance. :/

Can you please help me out, and tell me what all you have installed on your bold 9790. I completely have no idea what .sfi is, i have 7.1 Bundle 1886 (v7.1.0.649, platform 9.16.0.129) on hybrid :S

    Please help meeee !!!

    Sorry for the bad English.

and yea, i agreed with Sharma and Sheldon. Let them rest, i'm pretty sure, they'll come up with a surprise so let's sit back and enjoy our OS for now

We need a new radio file for the 9900, and the other handsets that havent appeared since 649.

    Then we will be cooking

@ wesside - sounds like you have done the same thing, you could also try using the full 9900 package then just use the .523 sfi file for your phone.

It shouldnt make much of a difference but worth a try.

Also, how long have you had it on for, have you rebooted it a couple of times once it has settled?

yea. it's true. First time, I have used one radio file such a long period otherwise I use to jump immediately on new leaks/official OS. Even for .523, I tried .569 & .649 but had to come back to .523 finally everytime. Waiting patiently for .658 radio file and your new hybrid!

Third day on RC4 and it has given fluctuating reports:
ADR is 11.7% per hour, though it has been a very heavy usage day with more than 300BBM, and around 25 calls and 25 emails and sms. Also connected with bluetooth for more than 2 hours and beweather app picks up info every 30 mins (don't know if that would make any difference).
I am dertermined to give RC4 a good long run this time and will keep posting reports.

I recently installed the RC4 and I'm no longer able to receive or send emails. I tried rolling back to RC3 but the same problem is still there. And I still can't see any of my installed applications in DM. Help

When I try, I'm told to log into my blackberry id account. Problem is I don't have the password or answer to the security question. I'm at a loss as to how to reset it otherwise.

Do you have a BlackBerry ID?? Perhaps you never set one up. See BlackBerry ID

I do. Unfortunately the id is my blackberry email. And when I try to do password recovery, they do not send it to the blackberry email for security reasons.

Call you phone provider, they need to logon to the BIS server, resend your service books and you will need to re-authorise you email accounts. This is a security feature, not related to the OS build.

Have temporarily abandoned the BL Hybrids.

No performance issues, but I was intrigued by the current mix and match that Phill_UK was running and had to give it a go.

After all, I had gone a whole 7 days without loading an OS !!!

Now running the following, with thanks to Phill:

    .523 .sfi

    .658 Java from 9810 over leaked 9900 .649

    Tweaked .alx courtesy of Zocs

Will keep me amused for a while.

I will of course be back for RC5, would be foolish not to !!!

I have also tried swapping java .658 on official .569 with .569 sfi on 9860. It is more than 12 hrs. as of now, no issue. working fine. I didn't use modified .alx 3 files even though it is working.
Yes, true. Zocs statement is correct that OS is nothing but swapping of folders.

it would be fine not using the alx.

but if you look through the app management/os 7.1 and scroll down you'll see ooodles of duplicates being loaded.

9900 only full OS, with latest .56 ввм, facebook, twitter beta.

Couple of paid apps needing key if you've purchased.

And no, RC5B won't be out until new radio is out.
