@rgshah: your phone might run a bit warm until it settles as you have been installing apps then reindexing as well.

I would let it settle.

If you continue to find it warm then reload with the next step back in OS as the base, if this wasnt 523 then whatever you had available.

@Crypt1c: sounds like you may have a winner there. let us know how it gets on.

i think it doesn't matter to use base 649, 523, or 569, as long as the .sfi is changed to 523.sfi or 569.

i myself using base 649 with 523. sfi + RC4, seems working just fine.

I think that that is right for the 9900 because it is a full OS but for other devices it is Java only and if overlaying rather than using the RC4 as a stand alone Java then .649 is best avoided.

The Radio (sfi) file is what we have had the most issues with, other than that the java is replaced with the hybrid anyway, it is a mix of lots of OS files, including 649.

You can use any base that you wish but we recommend the 523 sfi as it seem to be giving the best results currently.

.523 .sfi certainly is the business.

I ran RC4A with .649 .sfi and it idled in the high 20c range and got hotter when in use.

.523 idles at 17c !!!

Has anyone any idea why the .sfi is so different in characteristics to anything before or since ?

Seems very odd that RIM hit on a winner and then forgot about it in every build since ....

Day two :after halfday 'busy' ( +/- 180 emails, 20 bbm, 4 phn call, 3hrs listening music fr media player)... Was amazed to see results...Depreciation memory and battery is much much better than the alpha version.. Fantastic..!! Many thanks to ZocS n Ian for all of this..

Just wanted to know, why the .649 leak for 9900 had a vendor file ?
Earlier whenever i used to load a leaked OS i never removed the vendor files and believed it did not exsist. Is it something unusual in this OS ?

You will have to load the leaked .649 for 9790 then download RC4 for other devices and pick .523 or .569sfi, personally .523 has worked for most of us.

All OS builds have vendor.xml files, but as leaked versions aren't assigned to a specific carrier, the file is usually just an empty shell and doesn't need to be deleted.
