Extract the whole folder onto pc, drag thefolder to your phone while plugged in i think you need to click on the top bit when the phone ask if you wanted to charge only or sync or media.

Then use your file explorer to navigate to said folder.
Sorted it using jZip and DM.

    Many thancs Zocs

For other devices other than 9900 I must just get the RC3 java folder right? And insert that into my base folder which will replace the files in there

Yes please, that's all you need to do. Make sure it's a fresh install so you can shrink after copying and pasting.

Well, 523 SFI works with this mix. I will see how fast the data goes by relying on the java modules alone. 649 to me is like the old 402 which absolutely was crap.

Great news that .523 .sfi works with RC4.

.649 was running way to hot for my liking. Will give it a go for now but plan to re load over the weekend with .523 subject to any findings you have between now and then.

Have you retored sounds to RC4 or will I have to reload via the 'jad again ?

    Thanks.

If you could post when you have done so I would be grateful so I can replace the Java prior to reloading with .523 .sfi.

RC4 seems fine, just the .sfi holding it back for me, although Ian said earlier his temp and signal were Ok.

I am still finding it a bit wierd that the 649 sfi isn't running warm for me. Might be bacause my network is on 1800mhz but legals is on 800mhz.

That's the only reason I could think that could cause the radios to act warmer.

I am waiting till I use it tomorrow again to see if it gets any warmer than today.

I did copy and paste the RC4 to the 9930 java folder. But there's an "email setup library" error when I load it.

We are still undecided on the sfi then. That is why the test period is a couple of days.

can i ask a stupid question and ask what the radio actually entails? cause if its to do with networks i think it's gonna act diff for cdma and gsm networks. we are all gsm in england i'm not even sure if that uses more than cdma?

you only need to take the java only for 9930 and copy and paste into a fresh OS install of 649 on to your PC.

Which app do you use to monitor battery temp Ian ?

    I use MeterBerry.

.523 ran in the low 20c range even under heavy use.

    .649 is high 20's to early 30's

Strange thing is that the device doesn't actually feel that hot. Wonder if it is MeterBerry not playing well with .569 and giving a false reading.

Zocs mentions high temp and I assume that he is also on Meterberry given that it is pre installed in the Hybrid. Could this be the answer ?

The radio file as it is known (.sfi) does not just do what it's name sugests and it works closely with the Java.

For temp I am using my hand, with the 569 sfi it was noticibly warm. 523 and 649 are similar. Only warms slightly then cools again.

    I removed meterberry.

@ria: cdma networks are totally different to gsm.

I am also in the uk, orange/tmobile both use gsm 1800/1900. And o2/voda use gsm 800/900.

    Most countries have both frequencies.

Cdma networks are mainly found in the us and china. For more details I would look at the wiki page.

    Hope this helps.

I think I will need to find an area with low signal and try it for a while tomorrow.

That will tell whether I get the same results or not and go back to .523 sfi.
