You need to do a fresh install and swap the .sfi file yourself, sorry, that's the only way to do it.

Thanks a ton legal ! Although i am not having much trouble with the OS overall but since so many people are of the opinion that .523sfi is better than .569, hence wanted to try ! its just a case of getting greedier
Will keep you all posted if and when i switch over.

You may or may not notice an overall improvement.
Some carriers seem to give better results with .523 than .569, suck it and see.
I am on Voda as you are and .523 is working well with RC2. I haven't run RC2 with .569 so can't assist with a comparison.
What you will notice is that the battery will run slightly cooler with .523 .sfi.

Yes, as legal say, you will need to get the .523 os and install it, than take the file from that, this wont effect the later os directory.
.569 is now available for the 9790 i believe so that should make for a good hybrid base.

Thanks Ian,
Was on .569 till i saw i discovered thsi Amazing piece of work and since a week have been on RC2 and am loving it but just wanted it to try out .523 for better performance.
I have downloaded the .523 and extracted the sfi but am unable to uninstall the OS file from the c drive, the error it gives is ' network error 1316, a network error occured while attempting to read from file c//windows/installer/blackberry9790.msi'.
Can anyone help me with this.

Have you tried restarting the computer and then trying to uninstall ?
If in doubt do a fresh install of 569 then copy the 523 file back into it then.
Will do, but since this file stays would i have a problem while loading the OS via DM ?
I have always managed to remove the last OS before i install a fresh OS, please confirm !

At times I have had up to 5 OS's installed on my Laptop and DM has been OK.
On 9900 now running following install:
1. base OS .569
2. .569 codes copied to .523 java to get the mix with east-asian input
3. the mix copied back to .569 Java folder
4. and copied .580 from 9930 into the Java
5. and on the top the RC2 mix
6. and finallythe dakota .alx files ported
The outcome is really stable OS running on the Bold baby, with really goos battery life - during light use discharge rate ~1%+, when the phone really abused (on a highway, listening podcast, on PB browsing via bridge, few calls, few BBMs and some texts and mails) the discharge rat for the "abuse hour" never went over 8%
Great battery life..
Some texts, some browsing, twitter and facebook.
Highly recommend this with 7.1.0.580 as base os.
Be sure to wipe using BBSAK to avoid any problems like I did...
