- Hey all, loving this so far except for one thing. i am getting huge wifi signal improvement (and bars signal improvement as well) but i cant use the browser over Wifi. did i do something wrong?
Sent from my BlackBerry 9900 using Crackberry Forums Appm
Edit: I deleted my wifi profile, and reinitiated it. All seems fine, browser works fine, except it wont switch over to wifi calling.07-26-12 11:35 PMLike 0 - I am currently on vacation (yes, im still visting crackberry) so I wont be able to install this for a couple of weeks. I know its only been a few hours but could the testers report on their battery life during the one week testing period?07-27-12 12:50 AMLike 0
- Amazing hybrid.
I'm using this on a torch 9810 with the .569 base and everything is just flying, no lag at all.
I'm not commenting on the battery yest as I just installed it less than 10 hours ago, but so far, amazing!
ps: boot time is insanely fast!07-27-12 12:55 AMLike 0 -
- One of our testers is using a 9860 and he has been very impressed with the improvements. I would say go for it. You can't lose out.07-27-12 01:41 AMLike 0
- Please read back a couple of pages, I have had it on since its birth, but it DOES depend on where you are and how you use the handset.07-27-12 03:36 AMLike 0
- so i'm a bit confused..
am i installing .569 first, then putting .580 in this folder.. and installing again? or am i downloading both, dragging the .580 in . 569 folder then installing my my phone?
and what do i copy to what?
i am a noob at doing a hybrid so pretty worried!! thanks07-27-12 04:21 AMLike 0 - so i'm a bit confused..

Fresh install 569 to pc, copy paste the java to the java folder, then shrink or not up to you.
Run loader.exe or dmria__x and flyingsolid like this.07-27-12 04:24 AMLike 2 - As people keep pointing out, your battery life it really dependant on your network,
however the last 2 days I have done 7.30am to 12am and still had 40% left on my battery.I am in the UK and on Orange, using UMA over wireless also most of the day. Using social apps, web and several medium length calls.07-27-12 05:26 AMLike 0 -
The battery life on 3G drains on average 5-6% an hour but, on 2g it's about 2-3% so thats about a 50% increase in battery life. There's Wifi almost everywhere and half the day im at work so not too much of a need for 3G. I only use it when no Wifi and im gonna do some surfing or downloading stuff. Just kinda makes sense.Last edited by BlackB_G; 07-27-12 at 05:41 AM.
07-27-12 05:38 AMLike 0 - Battery is looking good so far.
4 Hours off charge. 80 mile round trip in car using Bluetooth with variable signal, couple of calls and 4 e.mails and texts.
1.2% discharge rate according to MeterBerry.flyingsolid and zocster like this.07-27-12 05:53 AMLike 2 - No UMA is very much a software item, 7.0 never supported it on the 9900 but when 7.1 was released it appeared ok.
Hotspot on orange has to be activated by OCS, you get a hotspot allowance for data of 500mb so be aware
I can understand that increase but I would suggest trying the setting at 3G only, stops the phone searching for 2g signal. might help a bit also. I am hitting a whole day with a fair amount of usage now which i am happy with,
Just double checked the 9810 does support UMA:
Data GPRS Yes
EDGE Yes
Speed HSDPA 14.4Mbps, HSUPA
WLAN Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, UMA (carrier-dependent)
Bluetooth Yes, v2.1 with A2DP
USB Yes, microUSB v2.0Last edited by ifraser; 07-27-12 at 05:58 AM.

The UMA on my 9360 worked with 7.0 though. UMA and WIFi calling are more or less the same except... Wifi calling does not allow for the handover b/w Wifi and Mobile Network when WIfi drops.. which is what UMA does. That handover part I believe is a hardware dependent factor which is why the 9810 does not have UMA in it's true sense like the 9360/9900 etc...07-27-12 06:14 AMLike 0
