    Hi Zocster / Sator,

If I want to use the 523 SFI, which 7.1 OS 523 version should I install as the base for RCB5?
The last release appears to be 7.1.0.523 (Bundle 1646) for Blackberry Bold 9900 released for Softlogic Srilanka on July 11th, 2013.

Can the 523 SFI work with RC20 or 21?
I tried doing so, but got App Error 200.

Would there be a future full RC (not Beta) for 523 SFI?

OS 7.1.0.523 is very old, you can download OS 7.1.0.1098 for your 9900 and use RC21.

    Dear Sator,

I experience a drop in signal strength in outlying areas outside city limits, while finding other mobiles'ving good signal strength with the same operator.

Was wondering whether RIM releases region-specific SFI files tweaked to work with that particular region's operators OR whether the SFI file is a global release to include all operators.

Of course the OS 7.1.0.1098 for UK's the latest with more advanced features factored in.

SFI file is a global release, you can try different size of SFI files (large/AllLanguage or small/multilang, due to language files) that suit you best. You might try first OS.1098 frm Voda UK. with RC21

no symptom on whatsapp update again...

Thank you Sator and BL Team...

Thanks for Sator and BL Team... Will try the RC21 now...
    BTW:
I'm about to report problem with whatsapp on RC20 + .1098 (amstrong)
If i dont update whatsapp, i can not use application for camera (ie. bb camera and silentcamera).
But i dont remember the error notification (forget to take a note on it).
If i update whatsapp, i can use the app again (after reboot).

Use the latest OS. 1098 and do not delete the original OS files, copy and paste RC21 onto your original OS files.

    Hi everyone,

Hope you all are well and hanging in...

    Dear Sator,

I got word this week from an insider who is still around on still on the RIM Payroll up here in Canada, and I been told that there will, " BE NO MORE FUTURE 7.1 UPDATES FROM THIS POINT ON AND INTO THE FUTURE"

Sator and others can you please confirm that this is the facts and truth please...

If that's the case I guess in 2015 its time to start selling all these Curves and Bolds and Torch's that I have in stock before I am forced to throw them in the garbage bin cuz they wont be with a penny at the end of the day...

Thanks again all for your time, Hope your well Sator

I believe Sator or everybody here don't work with rumours, so I think either you openly contact BlackBerry on this or need to wait for formal announcement from them.

And it seems totally illogical that there will be no further OS7 updates when Blackberry have just announced a new production run of the 9900.

    Thanks clie610,

Lets wait and see about that...in regards if there will be anymore Updated 7.1 OS for all of the 7.0 Devices from here onward.

If there is no Update by the end of June 2014, I am 100% RIM wont be and never will be investing anymore funding and money and support for all their 7.0 Series Devices.... The Writing Is Clearly On The Wall, That Time Is Up and Here, That BlackBerry Is and Heading Out Of The Smartphone Market in 2015... In Other Words RIP BlackBerry RIM Forever This Time....

Apple and Samsung are and will be the Worlds Giants from here onward into the future...

PS: Every day more service providers are singing off and will not be selling anymore Blackberry Devices...

Examples: Bell USA, Bell Canada, Rogers Wireless, Tmobile, and a few more in North America, and more to come around the world....

If anyone thinks Blackberry will be around in the next year or two, I think your all going to be very surprised in 2015

Attn: All the new OS 10 Blackberry Devices have complete failure, and BlackBerry Lost their shirts on that so called new design and gamble, all this has done is help the Apple iPhone group and Samsung device lovers and fans...

The OS 10 Project killed and put BlackBerry where they all are today...

Anyways clie610 thanks again for your reply... all the best

The Future of Blackberry RIM/ = An App Called BBM ( what a disgrace and joke ) Google is working on their own app that will be better and for free, its in the works right now and should be out to download by this fall of 2014....

Blackberry RIM and their so called app BBM, ( sorry it doesn't get any more lower then that )
