No there's no fix and the time it takes to update has to do with how many contacts you have. When I had over 200 buddies it took about 5 days for it to update. I think it updates for each buddy 1 by 1 like the groups do. I just deleted everyone and started fresh

i am having the same problem, but a friend of mines has 500 contacts and his updates every few minutes
