ok so in bbm the little d and little r meen read and delivered right but if it still keeps the little d does that meen that the person can still see the message without opening it or they can tell who its from so dont open it?

If the D is still there they more than likely. Could read the message and just did not respond or they ended the chat in which case will keep showing the D and never chage to an R.

A message is considered r, read once the message has been open and their front screen reminder has gone away.
