make sure when you save it it is a PNG, and try uploading it to a site such as photobucket, and then when you're on your phone, goto the photobucket link and download it there instead of emailing/bluetoothing it to yourself, etc.
Thats how I finally got mine to work.

I'm having the same problem not being able to view the pic because its all white. I just tried uploading it to photobucket, but when I go on my phone where is the link to download it on the site?

Ahmed, when I transfer the Habs logo to my phone it shows it all in white :s

When you upload and save a picture to photobucket, you should be able to roll over the image, and underneath it should have the "direct link", type that into your browser on your blackberry and it should come up. save, put as display picture. done. :)
