i founded a simple way without using photoshop because i dont have photoshop.
Go online to sumopaint.com
create painting
file add a layer
erase white layer
add another layer
dray anything you want that has white so it doesnt look when scrolling

sweeet! . . you might want to right click on the layer and select ''blending options". Fool around there and you'll see that you can make it even better.

The WHITE part is the part that is hidden until someone scrolls over your icon.

So if you have The Number 1 with half black half white, the black part will show, then when someone scrolls over it, the white AND black will show.

Can you please make a logo with the background in place but the inside completely transparent untill scrolled over??? All the other laker ones ive seen have been able to see without scrolling over them.
