Hi, I am on BIS and have sent a BBM message to a contact who is out of network coverage. Therefore the message shows a tick next to it but does not show a D or a R. For how long does the message pend in RIM BIS queues so that it can be delivered when the phone comes into a coverage area? Thanks.

To be honest, I cant say with any certainty...

However; looking back at the well known previous outage, BBM and emails were all eventually delivered.

Some claim they were affected 3-4 days even, but they all eventually came through.
People even received notifications for all of their previously requested browser pages.

They (RIM) may even keep undelivered BBM messages in perpetuity on the NOC until finally hitting it's mark.

But, someone who knows more about it than me can provide much more of a definitive answer though.
