So i haven't really used BBM that much but ive been using BB for about 6 years now, so, what exactly is a group? is it like a chat? or a blog? forum maybe? i wouldnt mind joining some that where on the above link but dont want my phone going off at all hours of the day!

I would think of the bb group as a set of bb owners that already have some commonality about them (like a family, co-workers, frats....) That way you can sync your calendars, tasks, images and so on.
