I'm having the same issue on my phone and my wifes. ANy suggestions are much appreciated. The icon isn't hidden, it isn't in a folder but it shows installed. If I battery pull no change. If I uninstall and reinstall no change.
I had set the right soft key to launch BBM while on the previous OS. I pressed it this morning and I got the "user agreement" page. Now I have the icon and it shows up in installed options.
Talk about weird.
If the above doesn't work for you Commander, check your applications and delete bbm, then go to the link below and install from there.

I'm going to have to try the above. I've uninstalled and reinstalled at the link you provided about 7 or 8 times between both the phones doing it. It is going to suck to load 4.5 just to set a soft key . . . .
When you upgrade, you have to select it to install BBM. I missed it the first time. I had to wipe my phone for another reason and I caught it when I reinstalled. It will be in the list with all of your other apps, etc...
I did that too. I've wiped and installed 5 times between both phones. No luck. Still shows installed in apps. Does not have an icon to launch it.
