    does bbm need activating? if so, how? i've tried adding peoples bb pins and they jsut say "pending (waiting for authorisation)"

    Do you have a BB data plan? If not, BBM won't work. If you do, then you need to wait until the person you are adding accepts your request.

    yeah i think it's included in my contract, and my friend hasn't actually recieved the request

    Maybe giving your carrier a quick call to verify it's been activated might do the trick, or get them to send you the servicebooks.
