    Does anyone know why when I send a bbm message to a contact it comes up a red cross but the person is updating her personal message sending BCs and its only with this contact wondering if anyone had this problem and got it fixed?

    Seems to me you two got a connection problem.

    I'd sms/call the person and tell him/her to delete you from BBM, delete said person from BBM and the send a new invitation.

    That should fix it.
