Any "official launch dates" are speculation; RIM does not provide launch dates. In the case of new smartphones, they will give us an estimate by saying "3rd Quarter", but that's about it.

Ok then so have they given a vague intimation in the same format as above?

Since beta zone is on version 5.0.3.13, and the new bbm requires blackberry ID(which we know is a OS6.1 thing). My guess would be when we see OS6.1.

We have BB ID already, for app world, BB protect, etc. ... and its not like BBM6 can't run on current devices (people have the leaks running on their phones...).

Btw, does anyone know the actual differences between BBM5 and BBM6? (what are the leaks like? new features?)

The difference to me at least, is while scrolling through your contacts, it is very smooth, even on the first run.

I have been running it since day one of the version 6.0.0.31

Now I update to 6.0.0.56 and it's still awesome

You can get it by following the instructions here >>> http://forums.crackberry.com/f152/bb...s6-5xx-601252/

    Delete BBM from your BB

    Install BBM 6

    Install BlackBerry ID

Install the COD files from the above link via BBSAK, reboot your device.

    Tada

But if the only difference is the way to scroll through contacts then that's not exactly earth shattering, surely there must be more differences!

Some screenshots just showed up on the CB main site.

Looks like you can color-code stuff. And there is a "held" category (not sure what that is though).

    Looks cool.

After installing a "leaked" version of BBM 6 my BBM just disappeared :-(
I had to reinstall the old version. Guess it was a fake.
