I just installed BBM 5 and it's showing up under my applications list(under options) but it's not showing up under my homescreen. I battery pulled after I installed and still nothing. Any ideas?

Have you checked your Instant Messaging folder (or any other folders for that matter) to see if it downloaded there?

    I don't have any folders.

Is it possible that it's because I optimized my OS before install and got rid of some file it needs?

It's possible - you could try resending your Service Books to see if it reinstates your BBM.

Did you delete all folders or just hide them? If you hid them it could be in one. You don't need an icon because it is always running. On my Bold I just hold my blackberry button (the one to the left of the scroll ball) for 2 seconds and it brings up my apps that are running. See if it is there.

BBM5 requires OS 4.5.0.131 or higher. Most of the time that I have heard where the BBM5 icon disappeared is from people installing it on erlier OS versions.

the OS compatibility issues was for the leaked BBM5 over the summer. and the leaked one worked with 4.5.0.110 and i think another lower OS. the new BBM5 official should work on all 4.5, 4.6 and 5.0 OS's. it wont work on anything below 4.5.
