There are currently no viruses for BlackBerry. Even if one showed up suddenly, and was somehow embedded in a QR Code, you would have to click "install" to get it onto your BlackBerry. It cannot install automatically, without your explicit approval.

Cool, kinda like MACs (ie not Windows lol)

I downloaded NeoReader, and I cannot get UPCs to scan. Whats the trick to getting those to work? all the other codes scan just fine.

Not to be the concerned parent here, but can this be dangerous (virus, porn, malware, etc.)?

I haven't seen it, but I think its possible because the bar codes are just links to other websites.

I am attempting to import a vcard with a QR code that points to a web URL using the browser and i get a rendering error. Is there any way to get the BB to import a VCF without it being an attachment to an email? thx

I have created a QR Barcode (matrix code) for Crackberry.com ; This method of decoding DATA was created in the mid 90's. This is all over in Japan.

In BBM 5.0 Click Add Contact> Scan> Point your Cam to the Barcode.

yeah.....this is happening to everybody with the official BBM 5 app, the leak allowed text, but for some reason the official one doesnt recognize it.


it really pisses me off!

ill seriously pay somebody if they can successfully rip the QR Code Reader from the BBM 5 leak and create a separate app of it.
