I have created a QR Barcode (matrix code) for Crackberry.com ; This method of decoding DATA was created in the mid 90's. This is all over in Japan.

In BBM 5.0 Click Add Contact> Scan> Point your Cam to the Barcode.

Cant wait for this to take off even more on our BlackBerry devices!

Yes, there are so many possibilities. I like that RIM is implementing this technology on our devices!

I used Kaywa QR-Code QR-Code Generator Have fun with this. There are many QR Code generators out on the web.

Definitely cool. Don't really get the generator (for anything other than a website. as 'sms', 'text' and 'phone number' don't seem to work).

Is there ANY way to put the Barcode scanner on the main screen? Or possibly make it a short cut key?

I believe over in Japan they use cell phones to purchase stuff using barcodes. I would LOVE to see that implemented. Of course it would have to be some secure way of doing it.... :P

If you mean putting your barcode as a Home Screen (wallpaper), yes you may. What you would need to do is open BBM Click Menu-> Add Contact-> Save Your Invitation Barcode Image-> Click Save. Then just look for your barcode image under Pictures and set it as Home Screen.

Before BBM 5.0 I was using this joint called i-nigma (i-nigma - the fast track to mobile internet or i-nigma.mobi from your bb)

OR you can use this handy dandy QR code:

You could assign this reader to a convenience key. There's another one called neoreader too. Google it if you'd like, but I've only used i-nigma.

Kool, I've been using Kaywa. "cenloe" recommended zxing Generator, has a alot of options. Check it out you will like!

The app neoreader has no 8900 release, I tried the 83xx and App screen is too small.

seriously what's the point of this barcode? if i wanted to go to www.crackberry.com i easily type that in faster than it would take me to go to bbm open up add a contact then go to scan then point at the barcode. So what really is the point of this?
