Just use "direct shrink on phone", anything checked will be removed, anything unchecked will stay. You can remove what you don't need, including all of the fonts which take up somwwhat around 8-16MB and wallpapers, stock music, video and ringtones, if you only use music you made. I wouldn't remove the ringtones.

This worked perfectly! I removed the stock pics and games...right from the phone. It did a reboot and all was set.
im trying direct shrink on phone, and when i start up bb boss and then plug the cable into my cell then click direct shrink on phone it reconizes my pin, then it will say are u sure you wanna delete 636 files and i havent even put a check mark in any box to delete?
thanks
an awesome application thats really well put together... I understand there's a lot going on right now, but wanted to bump the thread to see how the new updates are coming along
Unfortunately I've been neglecting it a little. I've had a lot of things going on in my home life which have put this project on the back burner. The biggest thing that hurt me is the loss of my PC. The HDD crapped out on me and the last cloud backup I had was the original version 2 that didn't work for 64-bit systems. I'm about 80% rebuilt, but it is taking longer than expected. My apologies for the delays.
1: Ability to go full screen.
2: Ability to save system reads with date\time in the file name. I would like the ability to sort system reads and save them as they are sorted in the window.
3: Ability to save the event logs with date\time in the file name.
4: Ability to sort the dependency tree. I love this feature!!!, just need some more functionality with it.
I am using version 2.2.2, unless I am missing something, the above are my only quarrels.
Thanks for an amazing app that seems to be working the best with 7.1 so far!!
I used BB Boss to shrink a BB9000.
Unfortunately i checked to remove "Bluetooth File Transfer" in the advanced options on the "Shrink OS" Tab .
No this device cannot reveive files anymore, the sending device (a 9700) says that this service is not available. However I can send files via BT from this 9000 to my 9700.
So how I can i reanable "Bluetooth File Transfer"?

Thanks!
Reinstall the device software and then this time, use Direct Shrink on Phone instead. You'll have to delete any vendor.xml files again.

Using BB Boss's 'Phone File System' tab, load the following cods from your OS install directory:
2.2.2: I turned off radios, pulled SIM, did a security wipe, and nuked my phone with MML, and tried this out on Bold 9000 AT&T firmware 1067 before loading. I gutted the OS and performed a modify OS on disk. Options shown below:
- Removing AT&T core and AT&T themes options didn't work. After restarting the phone, it has the Precision AT&T theme (vendor 102), AT&T ringtone, and AT&T Music app. This is without re-enabling the radio or reinserting the SIM, and no vendor service books are on the phone.
- Turkish and Greek are still in the application loader, along with blackberry maps. I don't know if these would be broken if installed since I unchecked them in the loader.
Here are the vendor files that remain in the Java directory:
net_rim_theme_102_zen_480x320_b.cod
net_rim_theme_114_480x320_b.cod
net_rim_theme_115_480x320_b.cod
net_rim_theme_119_zen_480x320_b.cod
net_rim_theme_122_zen_480x320_b.cod
Looking through BlackBerry.alx, here are just _vendorID="102" files:
net_rim_theme_102_zen_480x320_b.cod
net_rim_hotspotclient_att.cod (auto login to AT&T wifi hotspots, annoying unremovable wifi profile if you don't use it)

Reason: added file names
I was able to shrink an updated software bundle on my computer, but Im running BES and would rather update the software when im with my BES Administrator since I will need them to reactivate my BES account following the software update.
In the mean time, i would link to shrink my os because ive got only 20MB free, and my phone keeps on freezing (only google maps and gtalk are installed as 3rd party apps.
My 9700 is running v6.0.0.615, and trying to use bb boss to do some shrinking on the phone. However, when I try, it says could not connect to device.
There are a couple of programs that RIM runs in the background that hook the phone when it's plugged in. Ctrl+Alt+Del and bring up task manager, then find the 2 programs that have RIM in the description. They are something like RIMDevMgr.exe or something. I posted them a while ago in an update. Kill those tasks and then you'll be able to connect and proceed.

I am also including a link to my settings. Just download this link to your system and select "Import Settings" from the file menu. navigate to the folder containing the settings file you downloaded and you'll have the same settings that I use on my T-Mobile 9700. It will cover most people and get you to about 95MB free prior to any third party apps being installed.
Thanks to everyone for your patience and understanding with the last release. Your excitment and support for this project is at keeping it fun and interesting.
Kudos +1 for your work on this program for the BB Community.
Updated my 9700 to OS6 and as with the lack of RAM continually came up with lag. After much research (here & Google) i used your setting - as provided and have gained up to 98MB after shrinking - on the phone.
Now running:
BB App World 3
FB
Google Maps
Google Talk
QuickPull
One Touch Flashlight
BB Protect
Photo Studio Camera +
WRC
XE Currency
Gmail
Opera Mini
