Any ideas what to check after my update. on Verizon, and last week got the update to 4.7.1.61 - since the update my batt life stinks. this was a problem back in Aug and a patch or something fixed. I was getting two days out of my BB but now i am lucky if i get 10 hours. any help where to look.
i have looked at the other battery life threads and adjusted brigtness, gps, and checked other battery drainers. I have been a very light user this weekend and don't know what to expect this week when i get back to normal use.
any ideas or direction to patches that might help? thanks

Upgrading sets your network settings back to global . You might want to check and put it back to 1XEV. That will help a bit.

not to hijack the thread, but what is the difference between global and 1XEV? mine was at global and i just switched it to 1XEV.

Global is for... global. 1xEV is for your country/carrier (Verizon for me).

When "global" setting is enabled, all the radio's inside your phone will be activated and looking for other signals, hence the increased battery usage. When "1XEV" is enabled, only the CDMA radio is on, hence the lighter battery usage.

thanks, switched back to 1xev and will pull batt for reset. see what happens by end of day tomorrow. thanks for the replies. frustrating to finally be happy with the battery and some software update kills it.

Make the jump to 5.0 AND while your at it, install irtehun's 5.0.0.238 hybrid. My battery life has gone WAY up even just after going to .230. It's well worth it even just for the threaded SMS.

I did the same. Running now with 5.0.230 with the 7.11 hybrid. Battery life is way up over before the upgrades. Lasting twice as long as before. And phone is faster, clearer and I do love the new SMS.
