I have been tempted to roll back to OS5 lately, so I made a new hybrid. It's been a long time, I think, since anyone released an OS5 build for the 9700....so here's one for those folks who are not willing to make the jump to OS6, but who ARE willing to run a hybrid. I think maybe there are 2 or 3 of you still out there.

I built this to run over 5.0.0.862, but it should work on most recent base OSes.

I have been following your hybrid work and this has brought me back to my beloved Bold 9700. Was running OS6 with Akimbo, but my 9700 was never as fast as on OS5 Went back to OS5.862 and updated to B5.... its so nice to work with the qwerty again and battery life - coming from SG2 and SGNote. Briefly toying with an IPhone 4 but my 9700 still gets the nod

Nope, not possible. Several OS6 features require the newer OS6 sfi file, including tabbed browsing, universal search, etc
