Do you have applications running in the background?
Not much, BBM, WhatsApp and Social Scope.

From experience, WhatsApp is a huge memory hog and battery drainer.

Just an advice - try deleting whatsapp for a couple of days... and monitor your memory drop. If your memory drops as big as you mentioned without whatsapp.. Reload the OS w/ ZigZag (B@stard 20120420) build and try everything again. Do you shrink your OS?

I should have grabbed a screenshot, because when I was running over 6.0.0.615 I showed 93.5 MB for System. ;-)

This is mine after a fresh reboot.

Before installing the ZigZag I had .668 shrinked with BB Boss, for the ZigZag I installed .723 and just replaced with the hybrid files as instructed, I did not shrink it.

Is BB Boss a good tool to shrink this hybrid, or which one is better/recommended?

You can actually use whatever shrinking tool you want.

before on official .668, no battery problem. can go till 10% and warning.
then i install yvon with .723 base, battery problem. the battery goes down till 10% and give me a message of "battery drained. shutdown handheld." without give me any warning sound or red light blinking. inject with 3 .723 COD as suggest, problem still persist.
now install zigzag with .668 base. hope the battery problem gone. i hate when the phone completely shut the alarm didnt work.

Found a battery charging problem on this build.
the battery meter indicates fully charged while its still 80% + something. When I unplugged the charger, the meter went straight to original, 80% +.

never saw a problem with charging indicating that kind of percentage.

    Hey All - Help needed...

I put the 723 base and later the 668 with ZigZag + shrunk the OS by using the BBHTool.

I was very happy to see that the OS was working super fast (the only burden was blackerry brwaser asking me to close tabs due to memory issue).

But - something is very weird with the battery , all of the sudden, after 2-3 hours of "normal" work (wifi, 3g, GPS, etc) the blackberry just shuts down (!) no warning or nothing, and has to be restarted with battery pull... very often

    I am not sure if:
    1) I did something wrong with the installtion process
    2) the shrink tool did something wrong
    3) 723 had a bug that caused the battery drain
    4) I have a "Draining" app, but for sure it didnt happen with OS5, since I use the same apps

Did you encounter the same issues?
    I cannot remove whatsapp...its my bloodline :-)

I did remove a weather app though

Question: Did you inject a cod after installing the base OS and ZigZag?

i shrink in both ways. Meaning - I may shrink the BASE OS first or shrink the base OS together with the Hybrid. Doesn't really matter in my case.
Try loading the whole OS again. It might help.

You can shrink with the BASE OS (Any kind of OS you are comfortable with. It may be 668 or 723) first. OR shrink BASE OS with ZigZag all together.

What's this got that Yvon hasn't? Or more so, should I "upgrade" from Yvon to ZigZag?

Check original post - I replaced 7.1.0.342 cods with 7.1.0.402, and I removed a few files that I thought were causing battery problems. Personally, I have not seen any battery issues whatsoever and I can't pinpoint what causes problems for some but not others. I also left a few other files as base OS to address specific problems like WiFi performance.
