    short answer..... no

    long answer..... no, the 8350i does not do text like all the other blackberries (SMS text). the 8350 does text as MMS.

    nope... no update. the 8350 is THE ONLY BB that does text like that. so it is not in the interest of RIM or 3rd party app providers to supply such a small percentage of the market.

    is there any os i can possibility download to try to get the thread text? how about the 5.0 version for the 8900?

    you cannot install an OS from one model onto a different device.

    also, its just the way an iDEN phone works. there no way around it, other than switching to a fully CDMA phone.
