Guys! I am a proud owner of a Bold 9000. But tempted to lay my hands on the newly launched Bold2 9700 ! Calling upon both the Bold1 and Bold2 owners to guide me in taking my decision !

I'v had the Bold 9000, was a very good phone, but it was too big for me. Im not a fan of "brick phones", now I have the Bold 2 9700, loving it every minute. I suppose everyone has their own opinions, for me I'd say 9700 is better

I found the 9000 perfect in every way except for the size of it, but my main reason for swapping was the missing UMA feature, this combined with the smaller profile was a winner for me.

Apart from that no real difference, though on the later release firmwares the battery life is beyond all imagination, i went 3 days last weekend without a charge which for me on the 9000 some days I couldn't get to the end of the day.

bold 9000 is the best, i am using 9000 ever since its launched in US market. this month i got 9700 but i didnt like the over all feel of the 9700 in comparison to 9000. most of my friends have returned back 9700 and are back to 9000. the main difference is the smaller keypard of 9700 in comparison to 9000. and over all i didnnt like the plastic look of 9700. rest depends on you what you like. cheers!

I disagree with the previous 2, . Go with the 9700, the additional memory available is a huge difference.

This is the Beta OS forum, and there are already lengthy threads on this topic in the decidedly more appropriate 9000 and 9700 forums.

At the beginning when i first got the 9700 i prefered the 9000 as for size and for the trackball. A week later i only used the 9700 once used to the trackpad the never ending batterie life and the never ending memory (no memory leak ) i don t even look at my 9000 anymore.

But i must say i loved my 9000 and i still think it s a great phone but compared to the 9700 it got seriously outdated

Go for the newer 9700 simply because its the latest. I have both, upgraded from 9000 to the 9700 .

The 9000 size wasn't a problem for me but I'm more than happy with the upgrade & wouldn't downgrade back.

The 9700 is great in everyway & out of all the reviews I've read of the 9700 I'm suprised nobody has mentioned the new profile settings such as tone & vibrate at the same time, the amount of vibrates you have, the length of vibrates etc I love that feature.

Go for the newer one you won't be disappointed.

Like they said, pretty sure that if do the 'search' exercise you'll find a lot of data. This is a touchy subject because the 9000 guys tend to be fanatic about their phones, I know I had one, they should not be compared since they are both great phones, still it is impossible not to from time to time. So simply put: Say you are going to purchase an E-Class Mercedes an money was no object, would you purchase the regular E-Class or go for the E-63 AMG ?????? !!!!! Good Luck...LOL

The 9700 is what the 9000 shuda been. If that's the case, hardware-wise, the 9700 is two years old (same old proc, 8900 cam, screen, winmo touchpad) and 9000 owners just want what they thought they'd get (more mem, more battery).

My prediction is that within 6 mos, the next gen of hardware w fresh processors will release and this whole thing starts over again:
    1. 3g, gps
    2. 3g, wifi
    3. Cdma, gps

Bberries are designed to be outdated
