Hey all just curious as to which 5.0 OS you have had the best experience with. I am running 5.0.0.230 now but i see .273 and .303 are available now. Which of the..... 5 different 5.0 OS have you had the best experience with and least amount of issues?
I am on .230 and have had no problems with it. Have not installed any of the others as all the literature and feedback I read online says that .230 is by far the most stable of the lot.
The only gripe I have on OS 5.0 is that sms text goes unbold after being read, instead of remaining bold, in your inbox. Otherwise, I love the speed of OS 5.0 compared to 4.7.
230, Hybrid 712. Too lazy to try the next hybrid as this one seems to work. If nothing else about OS 5, being able to actually edit Profiles is a nice upgrade.
I probably should give a hybrid with a different RADIO a shot. The Tour radio (4.7 and 5.0 OS's) is quite lame compared to my 8830 when in the foothill mountains outside of Seattle.
I was on 5.0.0.230 for a few months, but I just recently installed the 7.15 hybrid on top of that 2 days ago. No problems with it so far (other than having to set up my 3rd party apps again), and my startup time was cut down from 10 minutes to 5 minutes. (Worth the effort for that alone!) I think the radio may be a little better too...seem to be getting about 1 bar more at home, which is where I had the weakest signal.
.273 and .303 aren't worth an install. They give constant freezes, reboots, and signal loss. Your best bet is to run the .230 base with Irtehun's 7.15 hybrid. This is the most recent hybrid released to the public.
Honestly, I don't see why you would install the .230 OS and NOT install a hybrid. No offense to those of you that this applies, but ff you are daring enough to make the jump to an unofficial 5.0, then why not take 5 extra minutes and install a hybrid on top of it? Not only will you get faster boot times (as one user above mentioned), but you will get a cleaner, faster, smoother OS. The signal should not change between any of the hybrids as you are using the same .230 radio base.
5.0.0.230 with 7.14 works great. Every now and then my phone lags about 10 secs when unlocking it but thats it.
Some users report that this lag is due to an app in the background that might be updating during the lag period. For example, BerryWeather, UberTwitter, etc.

Why dont you want to install a leaked version? People who say this and complain dont make any sense to me. For the 15 minutes it takes to update you would be much happier with a leaked OS than the hours of complaining the phone is not up to your standards.
Verizon is going to release 5.0 next Wednesday at 9am in order to get it even earlier you must wear ruby slipper's and click your heels and says "there's no o.s. Like official 5.0 o.s" do that three times and your blackberry will download magically!!!

i have been running .230 with hybrid 7.15 and it is pretty solid but def has its bugs
things i noticed:
*Sometimes after a call u get the message of updating PRL .. and it just keeps saying that.. if u click cancel .. it never cancels and locks up your phone ... u have to perform a battery pull ... i am not sure if this follows to other hybrids but i was thinking of trying 7.14
* when playing music .. after the first song.. the 2nd song plays but there is no sound... u have to pause then play it and then it will run smooth for the next songs
* SMS as a whole is buggy ... issues are intermittent
Sometimes the new SMS icon doesnt go away .... being that u didnt sit on a message long enough for it to go away. SO trying to search for that message is impossible. Hitting U doesnt help.
Cannot launch a SMS from contacts ... go to address book,pick contact .. menu buttons .. send sms .. brings u to a window that has no area to type
* Recently when i turn on phone i get message :USB charging current is not suffiecient... etc ...
I can press back to remove and it goes away ... but there is no charger connected to device... i will have to stick charger in and out a few times and battery pull ...
* sometimes the phone freezes for a few secs even when the data arrors are not moving...
Those are detailed things i have noticed on my tour with 5.0.0.230 7.15
Might have to try 7.14 with .230
The official will def be great when that gets released but i dont see that coming until the tour 2 is launched first
Just makes the tour2 look more attractive ... new OS 5.0, WiFI and trackpad ...
