    There is no latest.

OS6 has never, and will never be available for any trackball devices.

that link on driphter was a VERY BAD joke made by one if its members. I got suckered into it too at first because he is a reputable member of driphter.
I really wish that was true!

If i look at the full specs from 9700 and 8900, the processor and the ram is the same. The reason that makes 8900 will not get os 6 is 8900 is an aftermarket product

Don't understand what that means. How is a main RIM product an "aftermarket product"?

The real answer was given long ago. It has a trackball.

    The processors are not the same (8900 = 512Mhz, 9700 = 624Mhz)

...and the 8900 is certainly not an aftermarket product

Sorry... do you have confirmation from RIM that there will "never" be an OS6 update for trackball devices??

I don't find these posts helpful, I've seen lots of people say "never" to things that then happened.

As far as I know, RIM's official stance is that there are no plans set. Not "We will never do this for trackball devices."

Not trying to start a flame war, but do you have any evidence of this concrete "NEVER" you keep posting?
