i am not sure if this was already posted and i apologize it if has but i installed os 5.0 on my 8900 4 days ago and about a day or so ago i noticed that it will restart as if i did a battery pull approximately 4 or 5 times a day...i was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if it is because of os 5.0 or if it is the phone.

Yes that is normal and mainly because its a beta that is not officially released. Bugs are still being worked out. None of us are suppose to have it.

I get the same thing, probably once a day on average.. Typical for a beta OS, still love the added features nonetheless..

Yeah, I had this same problem right after I installed the 5.0 OS. It didn't bother me too much until I realized it always closed out my BerryWeather, and my icon didn't show the current weather conditions. I'm just continuing to monitor the findings from other courageous upgraders, and patiently awaiting the next beta release... fun stuff!

I get it once or twice a day, but totally worth it if you ask me!

I just installed it about 2 hours ago. Haven't had a restart yet, but the night is young. The only thing not working is the FB app, at least that I can tell.

It has been happening to me too. I like the OS features that I'm debating on downgrading or not.

No debate here, I had to give it a go, but to me its WAAAY to glitchy. I'm seeing way to many ticking clocks.

Yup! After like 2 days I started getting random restarts so that forced me to downgrade. If it wasn't for that I would of kept it.

Because it's working perfectly with my 8900. I don't use FB app as I have my iPhone for that and the FB app for the iPhone is miles away better than the FB app for the BB. Viigo doesn't work but FreeRange does.

it really depends on the user.. I'm not huge into 3rd party apps, so for my everyday use I see some valuable improvements..
No more noise glitch when changin tracks
    Word wrap works
    Obviously all the esthectic improvements
And for some reason, since upgrading I have been able to connect to my university's wifi..

Much too buggy with too many apps not working right for my taste. The reboots are what sealed it for me.

Other than the resets that I rarely notice its good for me. Had the calendar problem which also affects the alarm but got it fixed. Google maps is giving me a problem but its not a big deal. Worth it to me. Like others said, word wrap and music player are worth the restarts. And it is a beta no one should have so of course its going to have some major issues but seems stable enough to be such an early release

I've been running 5.0.0.90 for about a week now and I've had 3 reboots. Guess I'm a lucky SoaB when I see that some ppl get 4-5 reboots per day. Still in doubt if I will downgrade to .206. Guess I'll see how it behaves over the weekend

Edit: the fourth reboot did it for me, combined with less battery life. Went back to .206 just now.

For the day that I had 5.0 installed I just noticed that every time I entered google maps it would reset for me. I mean I'm now on .199/.206, I rotate - sort of, but when I was 5.0 I found that was the only time it reset.

The reboots are definately blackberry browser cache related. I was able to get to about 1.5Mb worth of cache and my 8900 rebooted on me. I was able to make it reboot in less than 20 minutes with a fresh load of 5.0.90 after using jlcommander to wipe the previous OS. So no third party apps installed, no themes installed it rebooted.
