ALWAYS install on a .230 clean base.
It is recommended that you wipe your device with BBSAK before installing. (make sure you backup everything in Desktop Manager!)
OS has .230/.238/.287/.293/.344 5.0 OS's

i am dl'ing the .230 os now..i am familiar with backups and installing new OS's onto the 8330..however, when i dl'ed the link in the original post - i ended up with a .rar file..what exactly am i to do with that?
Looks pretty good so far. I'll give it a go for a while and report back with my findings. Memory is holding at the same point I was at before, with BBM5 that's saying a lot.
I noticed that this installs "Sample Content" which is over a mb. From experience, I know that this contains default ringtones, so if anyone unchecks it, I don't think you'll have those.
i have the leaked 5.0.0.230 OS installed on my 8330, everything seems kosher..
i dl'ed the file in the Orig. post and ended up with a .rar file..it says to install over a clean .230..can someone give me some more specific direction as to what my next step might be after loading the OS onto the phone? thanks in advance.

check out the post just above yours. if those directions aren't easy for you, then you probably need to back away.
