    I'm pretty sure you can't. I have a Mac as well and looked into it and it seems we can't install any unofficial OS.

    from what ive gathered, the most pain free (if not only) way to upgrade/downgrade your bb OS is through windows. you can either run windows on your (intel) mac through bootcamp or ive heard of people doing it through parallels.
