I will wait for Irethun to do his thing. I have more trust in him then VZW to get it right or make it better.

The computer does recognize the phone. In DM and Apploader it just gives me a list of the Apps on my phone.

Just do a search for the os #, like 5.0.0.XX.

    There should be some folders.

i just downloaded 5.0.0.419 and it still says 1XEV in the top right corner. Why doesnt it say 3G? Please help! I know it might be weird but I really want it to say 3G!
because verizon is EVDO. if you want 3g get a GSM phone. CDMA is more like 2.75G you can't use data and voice simultaneously.

Not true at all. ALL new Verizon Blackberry, Android, and even some dumb phones now say 3G instead of EV.

So...What exactly updated? I don't get why it says .238 if it's actually just .230?
If it says .238, you are probably running a hybrid of .230. My educated guess would be Irtehun's version 7.11. Mine used to say something similar back when I was running the hybrid.

Does anyone have any step by step suggestion or explanation of how I can regain the Password Saver? It was gone after the upgrade. I know I did not miss it when I installed the OS because I went over the checklist with a fine tooth comb. I use the Password saver pretty extensively. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Update: Password saver magically appeared this morning, after I deleted some clutter from the phone. Very weird.

    Preliminary Findings
The Good: Snappy, fast, and with none of the bugs that plagued .230. Radio is stable, reboot time is approximately 6 minutes, no issues with the media player, Viigo works, battery life is at least as good as 4.7, and will probably get better as it adjusts to the cycle, etc.

The bad: Some of my favorite apps are not working: Nimbuzz (won't get past the sign-in screen). Google sync also gets stuck signing in, voice dial doesn't work, and after every battery pull, I get an e-mail re-registering me on the Blackberry network, which is kind of annoying. More to come...
