Looking for valid link for downloading the 5.0.0.411 leaked OS for the 8900. All the links I've found have been shut off. Thanks.

Couldn't agree more. I have learned so much from crackberry, I think this whole site is amazing.

No true... if it was true, the top sticky thread would be the "Newest Official OS 5.0.0.xxx"... it's not there, it's NOT official.

Actually I can confirm that you're receiving now in Germany with a Vodafone contract the new OS 5.0.0.411 version (Platform 5.2.0.31).
It has been offered to me via Desktop manager (and I'm not the only one here).
I got my BB just a couple of days ago and it was an easy decision to upgrade

Then the Crackberry Blog should be confirming that... it has not at this time... therefore, OS 5.0 is not official at this time... I've been hearing it is Official for a week now... but yet NOTHING... mmmm, makes you think, doesn't it?!?!?!

I wouldn't consider .411 official... mine's always freezing up on a black screen after standby and doing other weird stuff... I felt that .348 was more stable

It's not as stable as my previous one, 4.6.1.231, which had great battery life and had all apps working fine. This one stutters sometimes.

I guess the official os would need the option of disabling threaded messaging.

Ok it stutters, but battery life is great. No noticeable bug that would ruin the whole experience. And so far all apps work great!

Forgot that the Ebay app that was available on 231 is now undownloadable!

    Can you explain "stutters"?

I'd like to know that as well... I've been using 5.0.0.441 for a number of weeks now with no issues, except for a couple minor issues with one 3rd party app.

Thanks man. I just have to give people this link and tell them that this is where to download it. It got to be a pain uploading the file through email.

To be fair I was taxing the processor some. Browser, ubertwitter, worldmate, bloomberg, gchat, ym, msn all in the background, tried typing in BBM and it'll stutter. BBM groups would just hang for quite a while, bringing app shortcut along with it.

But down regular use its all fine. Maybe I've never had this many apps open down in 4.6 since it doesn't look that capable to be honest.

The instant sms update I get while composing stuff is great!
