I can't seem to stream video. Most everything else seems ok. If you use Vlingo and get an error, download the update for 5.0, even though it says it's for the Storm and 9700.

Okay I can stream youtube but I can't get my SprintTV or some other streaming video. I'm not sure what's really going on. It could be related to the registration emails on every startup.

Sprint Navigation isn't working either. I get an "unable to reach server" error on Sprint Navigation, and TeleNav (the unbranded version of Sprint Navigation) thinks the GPS is turned off even when it isn't.
I may have to go back to 4.7.1.57. The glitches are adding up. So far:
1. Registration email on every startup - doesn't really bother me
2. No GPS for TeleNav - really bothers me
3. No server connection for Sprint Navigation - really bothers me only because of #2. I use TeleNav to find my way to weddings
4. No streaming video in the web browser (youtube excepted) - not a deal breaker but annoying
5. No streaming video in Sprint TV - really annoying because I love Sprint TV
On the plus side:
1. Slightly faster boot up (2-3 minutes vs 3-4) - not a big deal
2. Faster connection speeds (800-1200kbps vs 300-400kbps) - very awesome
3. Threaded SMS - awesome, but I also paid for the Threaded SMS app the other day
Battery life I'm not sure about; I've been trying to get the non-working functions working, and constant connection attempts and reboots will drain any battery on any device on any OS.
Well, that was short lived. Installed 5.0 at 5PM yesterday and I've been back on 4.7 since 5AM today.
The only serious advantage I saw in 5.0 was the faster data speeds, but on a handheld it's just not that big of a deal.
I'll wait for an official release.
Download the verizon offocal release it working

:(
Well I sure had lots of problems- ! Possibly my fault as I had previously loaded .230 over 4.x .40 w/o wiping and then loaded 2 hybrids over that ending w/ 7.15- and had no problems-
So after careful backing up, as always ( including the 3rd party app trick with DM) I loaded 419 with the 236 Hybrid- DISASTER-
But after a wipe with BBSAK, and 219 reload- I found I lost all contacts- AND COULDN'T Synch with Outlook to reload- thanks to these forums- I found solution & I went into Service Books and deleted the appropriate references to wireless synchs - and found I could synch with Outlook- and I was able to use other backups to reload data and Apps-
I did lose all saved email messages -the Saved folder was empty and also lost all memos- nothing critical- but ....
I'm running 219 w/o hybrid and am now stable -so we'll see- 230 with hybrid was a lot smoother!
One problem remains- could be theme as I'm using Tour_Storm_Today_Plus as I like the message and calendar listings-
Seems the device now doesn't as the home screen will display custom wallpaper but not the back "page" where all app icons reside- I just get a white screen !
We'll see - I may go back to 230
Best to all
*** UPDATE***
After suffering a 3.4% per hour battery leak (even on standby) I got ready to go back to 230. ... and slept on it over night- Now I'm down to an acceptable 1.3% - so I'm monitoring- and may stay on a straight 419 - We'll see- BUT- I still have that White Screen problem when I have to do a Battery pull-- I probably won;t goo to a Hybrid- I think an official release is imminent and - man- it;s such a hassle to red-load and re-organize my Icons/ folders and register certain apps- after all- don;t we all have a Job and / or life too ???!!??
