I have made WORKING hybrids for the 9500/9530 before and wanted to try something out for the 8330 users.
This is recommended mainly for 8330 users, but:
it should work on any 4.5 Device with some tweaking
This particular beta hybrid consists of:
4.5.0.163
4.6.0.291
5.0 Files
Enjoy!
Please Back up EVERYTHING before installing this. Java Only:4.5/4.6/5.0 Hybrid v1 131 Radio (recommended for Verizon):Download Here [dont forget to rename it properly]
To install:
1. Download the latest OS for your 4.5 device
2. Copy or extract the .rar files contents to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\83#0-v4.5.0.1##_P3.4.#.# folder (Where # is the actual OS you've installed)
2a. Shrink files if you'd like with the newest Shrink-A-OS included
3. Click Launch Loader in Shrink-A-OS OR go to Loader.exe in the AppLoader folder and update your phone
Please Back up EVERYTHING before installing this.
Please post any issues you have so I can try to fix them. Also - let me know if the previous profiles fix is still required for Verizon users and I will update accordingly (or issue a file fix .zip)
Thank you for trying theiexplorers.com Hybrids by lyricidal
[Note: The reason I named the topic as it is so that in future, no updates will be required to the title and because this should work on any 4.5 device)
Updating now - super psyched to see BBM 5.0 integrated; it caused some problems for me earlier so I'm hoping if it's built into the OS it'll play nicer with my other apps.
I'm already running the 4.6.0.267 hybrid so is there any reason I have to go through and re-download the newest registered OS? Can I not just use the new hybrid to overwrite the old one?

You should be able to do that no problem, just as long as all the files get overwritten when you copy/paste
The Platform will be whatever radio file you used with your install, so you're fine with that (unless you want to get a more updated one if there is one for your device)

Thank you for the quick response and for posting the files! Do you know or does anyone know if there is a better or more up-to-date platform/radio to use with the 8320 than the one I have?
5.0 is already included within it, so that would require no moving of files
if you want the old BBM, then you highlight all the files in the BBM\4.5\ folder and copy them. Then paste them into the Java folder
