I just installed Youmail 2.0 today with polling disabled, so should have some idea how bad it is in a day or so. I know in the past the app was draining hugely with polling.

Testing the an app's impact on your battery life is simplified with MeterBerry. It gives you the % of charge the battery is discharging per hour. Run a day with the app and a day without to remove doubt.
The Youmail app old and new hasn't had an effect on my 9700.

Just a further update, and a big thanks to you guys who suggested polling might be the issue. Been running since 530 AM with youmail enabled and running in the background, with polling turned off. Similar usage as yesterday, and currently at a very normal 80% battery.

    Thanks again guys!

Yeah I've been running with polling off for a day now and I don't see any added battery drain.

They really should disable polling by default...
