I'm kind of a 'noob' to all of this BlackBerry stuff but am strongly considering getting one. But I was wondering if you would need a data plan to access the BlackBerry App world?

Yes, and there is no way to get the tour without some kind of data plan (at least on vzw)
So would I have to at least buy the Connect Plan (VZW) to have a BB? Or is it a complete different set of plans?
It's separate, you buy which ever voice+texting plan you want, and then add the data on for $30/mth or $45/mth I believe it is. For verizon at least.
Are you sure about the $30 plan? Because I have heard people talk about that plan but I just looked at VZW website and the cheapest blackberry plan I saw was $50 a month.
That 50 a month is probably the data plan plus the cheapest phone plan combined.

Yeah, cause I'm on a family plan with my mom and she has me just pay for my data which is $30/mth
Yeah thats what would make sense to me. Does Verizon just not care to put that plan on their website? ha
