I went to www.blackberry.com/instantmessaging on my phone

    Clicked Search

Then chose Windows Live Messenger( At this stage there was a choice btwn. Yahoo Mess., Google Talk and Windows Live Mess....ICQ and AOL Mess. did not have active links)

I just downloaded the app this afternoon, so I thought it would be working for all Verizon customers with Curves....

FWIW I just followed that link on my phone and successfully downloaded/logged in to Windows Live as well. Google also downloaded although I didn't log in yet. I have a Pearl 8130.

If you download from the berry site (yahoo, gtalk, msn) etc it uses data.
